I woke up to a searing pain in the back of my head. I couldn't even open my eyes. Shit! I have never felt this bad even when I was in college. "Jenny, you're naturally smart, but you still shouldn't get careless." The words were a perfect echo from my last life. She was testing me, watching my face for any sign that I still trusted the cursed number floating over my head.

I pinballed between all of them, hoping someone was going to burst through with an idea but they all looked at me like I was speaking Jargon and they had nothing in their dumb skull. Shit, I was definitely cooked! I raised my head and Israel’s eyes were boring holes in my skull. The fuck!
