Aria tilted her head slightly, studying me even more carefully.
“That’s not true,” she said firmly. “You’re not wolf-less, Elena.”
I scoffed, almost immediately. I didn't want to believe it. “You wouldn’t say that if you saw what I’ve seen. Felt what I’ve felt. I don't feel like I have a wolf in me.”
“I don’t need to,” she replied. “I’m a healer wolf. I know the scent of a true werewolf. I’ve treated wolves who were broken, who had lost their wolves after trauma, even death. And I know the scent of one who never had a wolf at all.”
