His nails are long and blackened with dirt, the cuticles ripped and torn, and half of his middle finger is missing. He must have pissed off the wrong person. His hand is shaking, and a glance at him shows his mouth frothing. How would a human react to the hand of a witch keeping her in place? "You're a long way from home darling." Number one drawls in an oily voice.

CHAPTER 60 LILY’S POV After giving the two men a thorough look, I realized I certainly didn’t need help from people like them. They looked like rascals, dangerous ones at that. One had a thick cigarette caught between his stained teeth, polluting the air with the smoke and the other had bloodshot eyes like he hadn’t slept in days or was high on something. They even had grotesque tattoos scribbled carelessly on their faces and also had this dirty smirk as they looked at me that made my skin crawl in disgust.

The sight of him lying in the dirt felt jarring___ like gold thrown in filth. Giving one an irritated yet pitiful feeling. The young man sprawled amidst the dirt, his eyes closed, and his long eyelashes fluttered every second. His lips moved as if uttering some words, but nothing came out. Despite this, he looked really cute. Time passed slowly, but the young man remained fast asleep. It made someone worried if he would starve to death or get kidnapped by bad men. However, a change soon occurred. A strange screen appeared before the young man's face and shone brightly on his face, highlighting his beautiful face even more.

My limbs were frozen, leaden weights immobilized by stark primal terror. It cocked its hairless head, and I flinched as its grotesque features seemed to flow and contort. The sunken pits of its eye sockets split into open, oozing geysers. Blood and rank gray matter poured over its cheeks in rivulets as two baleful yellow orbs blinked into existence inside those spurting wounds. The smile widened into an impossibly broad slash, unhinging its jaw with a sickening pop. It leaned close until its dripping, putrid maw engulfed my vision.

Through a tangle of rusted metal pipes. Bobby stepped over three crushed garbage cans. Tottered on one foot, then gingerly began climbing past what looked like the remains of an old metal swing-set. He cursed under his breath the whole time. “Smelly old bastard,” he rasped, “love to see you work The Pit, you arthritic son of bitch. Probably fall and break your neck, then find some way to blame it on one of us assholes . . . ”

It was like she was perpetually stuck in the graveyard! In her panic, Sally bumped into what looked like a figure of a man. The force of the bump made her fall on her back. The figure lurched towards her. Sally thought it was one of her neighbors on his way home... but it wasn't. What stood before Sally was not human. It was a zombie, an undead being with leathery skin and a missing eye. Sally screamed. The zombie moaned.

“SOMEONE TOOK THE KEYS!” Everything else happens at once. Nester’s coughing worsens. A grave look settles in his eyes, as if he’s just understanding that something is wrong. He sways back, and the whole crowd gasps. “Bite… bite me, Olivia,” he gasps, crooking his neck toward me. Veins of silver branch out on his pale neck, stretching up to his face. “She’s not biting anyone,” another voice roars through the crowd. My whole body stiffens.

With Julian’s arm wrapped around me, we walked away, leaving Greg standing there alone, watching as blood dripped from his hand onto the ground, blooming into vivid red stains. His cries and his pain could no longer make me look back because I had found my happiness. The person who was willing to give me both respect and devotion was right beside me.

They reach the underground site, which looks like a congregation of homeless people, around trash can fires. The area is in Dustin's territory. Victor wonders if the man knows about this site. "Seriously?" Victor hisses. "It's inconspicuous," Edward replies with a shrug. "Miner said he'd be wearing a skull on his jacket." Victor spies just that, a boy, no, a girl actually in the distance with almond eyes, thick eyelashes, and a squirrely face. She's donning a giant sugar skull on her forest green windbreaker.
