“Trying to buy your way in with food?”
Dylan chuckled. “No. Just trying to take care of people I care about.”
Noel studied him for a moment, then nodded slowly. “Thank you.”
The four of them ate together. It was strange at first, but little by little, the tension softened. Dylan listened to the twins’ stories about school, about their dreams, and even gave advice when asked.
By the end of the meal, even Nardy had stopped frowning.
