It’s like that feeling when a little kid transfers schools and has to introduce himself in front of the whole class which is basically just a bunch of scary-looking strangers. “A lycan?” She raised her brows at me, “What’s a lycan?” “It’s like a werewolf,” Portia answered for me, “But they’re bigger and stronger and walk on two legs.” Jena looked back at her with a flabbergasted expression which was mixed with a lot of disgust.

Unlike us werewolves, the Lycans had more luxurious houses, mostly for those with higher positions. Well, since a lot of Alphas and packs from around the world were coming, we were in a long queue where the Herald was announcing names of the people who arrived, but seriously, it was not like the Lycans really cared about us. Lycans and Werewolves never really got along, and it has been that way for centuries. Lycans and Werewolves only needed each other when it came to wars they knew they couldn't win. As it was finally our turn, we entered the beautiful house. Dylan was my partner today, and he definitely helped my nerves cool down while Jules went with Dylan's Beta, Carolina.

The saliva of a Lycan is a venom that has no cure when it comes to vampires. All in all, it states how Lycans are a better version of werewolves. While lost in my thoughts, one of the Lycans spoke:

Lycans. You’ve heard of werewolves, people who turn to wolves when the moon is full. They are larger than people and strong like freight trains at a full gallop. Lycans are three times larger than the biggest werewolf. They were also many times stronger than their counterparts. The most powerful Lycan is Alpha Xander. He comes from a long line of Alphas who ruled well and with brute strength.

Everyone knew about wolves. "That is true for a normal werewolf. He's not just any wolf. He's a Lycan and his wolf has great power. A Lycan's natural instinct as a wolf is dominance, power, cruelty and monstrosity. Their wolves were made to be monsters. Why else do you think that Lycans killed lots of normal werewolves in the past?" I gapped at him. "So Iran and Issa are two different people?" I asked in shock. It felt surreal but I had felt it back at the car. I remembered the madness in his eyes.

Arec nodded and said, “We are. My whole family is. We are one of the oldest full-blooded Lycan families.” “How many Lycans are there?” Eve asked. “I honestly don’t know,” Arec told her. “But I do know we exist worldwide.” “What about werewolves?” Eve asked. “Do you know how many are in existence?” He shook his head and said, “Werewolves are trickier to keep track of since they are made by a werewolf biting a human and that human surviving. Lycans are born.” “Do Lycans gather in packs, or are they solo?” she asked.

“When the war began, they entered our territory and attacked us. Some were lucky enough to escape with the alpha and others but weak pack members like us were captured, we can not even die even if we want to. I heave a sigh but didn’t say anything, this is not even surprising to me. How can an ordinary alpha male think he can invade the space of a Lycan king? Lycans are a human-wolf hybrid and can transform at any time. They are considered bloodthirsty and vicious, constantly fighting with other wolves over better statuses. Lycans are much more ruthless and dangerous than normal alphas, let’s just say I made the right choice of coming here. “Are you also a wolf?” I ask her and she shrugges.

Everyone was murdered in cold blood. That was the end of the Lycans. The werewolves still held annual tributes for them until these days. Lycans and werewolves were cousin species. Unlike werewolves, the Lycans stood tall on their feet like a human but in Lycan form. But Lycan was much stronger and agile than the werewolves. Since the beginning, the werewolves and lycans were allies and together they repelled the vampires’ endless attacks.
