“Well,” Heath jumped up onto the bonnet and gripped the windscreen, tugging it out and tossing it to the side as he stepped back down. “Something in the illness means that after brain death, the primal brain still keeps going, and that part of the brain is just about eating. So, they’re just responding to that instinct to eat, and that’s why they’re moving like that.”
“Oh… Like that chicken that had its head cut off, and they fed and watered it through it’s neck. It lived for like days after,” Dan Craddock nodded as if understanding completely how that could happen. “Sure. As long as they’re not, like, suffering.”
