What The Wind Knows Novels & Stories

The wind was fierce and unyielding, but they pressed on, knowing the importance of their mission. Standing on the edge of the cliff, Luna raised her arms, calling out to the spirits of the wind. She felt the air swirl around her, lifting her hair and filling her lungs with its invigorating presence. With a chant, she captured a portion of the wind's essence in a crystal vial, which glowed with a vibrant green light. --- The final element, fire, awaited them in the heart of a dormant volcano. This was the most dangerous part of their quest, but they faced it with unwavering courage.

In the depths of hell, I learned who I was. It takes a strong soul to endure so much pain and heartache and still make it out alive.... to not get stuck in the deep burning pit of misery. It takes a resilient creature to claw its way, back up out of the darkness and back into a reality, where your nightmares, can finally turn into dreams. My human name is Sebastian Quinn. I have been a lone wolf since the alpha of the Moon Shadow pack disbanded and disowned me from the pack a hundred years ago because of my special and reliable ability that is one-of-a-kind; knowing everyone's truth and lies.

“You’re dead, Lee!” Losing his mind, Wind yelled angrily and pounced on Kaze. He tried to grab a weapon from the pile to shoot Kaze. Not giving him a chance to fight back, Kaze fired another round. The Desert Eagle had the power to blow Wind’s elbow apart. Wind grimaced in pain and tumbled to the ground. Gripped by fear, the remaining minions fell to their knees subserviently. As Wind’s whimpers trailed off, Kaze said aloofly, “If I wanted your life, you would’ve been dead by now.”

After I was reborn, I burned every photo I had with Natalie Landers and tore up the three years' worth of love letters Kristen Rhodes had written me. In my last life, I'd been nothing but a joke caught between those two women. Natalie swore she loved me, but the moment I gave up my study-abroad spot for her, she left the country with Freddy Palmer. Before she left, she wrote me a letter, saying, "He needs me more than you do." I spent three months falling apart. Kristen brought me dinner every night and told me, "I've waited eight years for you." Once we were together, she came home on time every evening and never so much as looked at another man. I thought I'd finally bet on the right

The third night after the siege, the wind shifted. It wasn’t the usual howling breath of the storm, nor the bitter bite of war’s fury. This wind came quietly, rolling in from the north with a chill so ancient it seemed to suck warmth from the very air itself. It was a wind older than memory, older than the stones of Emberhold. It whispered of things forgotten, things better left undisturbed.

These witches have no idea what is ___ I stood as a certain wind blew furiously tumbling my place about. What kind of wind is this by this time of the day? No! My eyes broadened as I saw my portions begin shattering in pieces. I ran to them, as the wind tossed me to the side. I scrambled up and rushed to them to try to catch any of them. It was futile as they all shattered to pieces before my eyes informing me that this was no ordinary wind. There was a presence in here that has been watching me or just arrived.

They flapped their wings quickly and left. "Damit! You're an idiot! The leader just said that and really didn't want us to go back. If you leave now, you will have to bear the consequences later.” Nolan was really out of patience with this Windy friend. Windy is somewhat better than Nolan in terms of speed and strength, but in terms of intelligence and sensitivity, Windy is utterly inferior to Nolan. “What is our mission when we leave the clan?” Nolan asked Windy being scolded was also a bit humiliating, but it is true that until now, he still did not understand Nolan's intentions.

I gazed at the sky once more, then a gentle but fierce wind blew to the point it shook me. I gazed around when the Luna met with me. "The wind was blowing from the northeast. This isn't good. Something big is coming our way. A storm that will destroy us all" There was a shivering in my bones. "What is it? You don't mean the war, do you?" She questioned. I wish I could tell her more. But even I had no idea. It's just a sick feeling. "I don't know. I just hope we won't loose more than we bargained for"

MEREK The air in the north tower was thin and smelled of old starlight. I stood by the stone window, my hands resting on the cold ledge. To a human, the wind sounds like whistling. To a wolf, it sounds like a howl. But to a spirit, the wind is a library. It carries the voices of everyone who has ever lived on this mountain. Tonight, the voices were loud. They were whispering names I hadn't thought of in a hundred years.

"There are voices of people that linger when their lives are unjustly taken from this earth," Crystal said. "Voices of blood, and people who can't get justice for themselves. These voices belong to the souls of the dead, and the innocent. They can haunt you, torment you, and even try to kill you if they are strong enough. They are like air. They can't be seen. They can't be touched. They can be felt, but mostly through one's hearing. They glide in the air. The strong wind can stop them, and so can fire. Nature doesn't necessarily stop them, but anything too loud for you to hear them can temporarily stop them. And that is why they are called whispers.
