It’s like a mouth of darkness opening it’s jaws ready to devour anything near it. I can’t see anything past this black domineering shape, it’s commanding and obliterating all light that enters into it. The little air and light left around the black hole caves toward it, casting the appearance of the landscape to be spinning in slow motion, bending to the will of this black hole. It’s mesmerizing and terrifying. Just as my eyes begin to fully process what’s before me, a cacophony of screeches, growls, and cries, shoot out from the sky. Something hits the back of my head and my face plants into the dirt.

All were thoroughly trapped. So, with nowhere to go, their ships were soon pulled in by the black hole’s gravitational pull. All ultimately fell in and tumbled down to their deaths, pressed and pulled and stretched as they spiraled down for all eternity.

In another of the desolate parts of the wilderness, a black hole stood. The hole was a few feet off the ground and looked like a mirage to anyone who was within 50 meters of it. Yet no creature dared to get close to it. For the few that did were sucked into the black hole – well, parts of them. Some had only their heads sucked in, effectively beheading them and costing them their lives. Others had half of their bodies taken, and some were totally minced even before they could step foot into the black hole. The creatures that remained had learned from the deaths of the first few. No one dared try again.

The surrounding void completely collapsed and turned into a black hole. An invisible pressure filled the entire sky, causing everything around it to grow extremely quiet!

It’s wild and chaotic, like some invisible force has locked onto me and decided I’m going wherever it wants, no questions asked. The pull is sharp, way stronger than before, and it’s dragging me toward something. I can’t see it yet, but I feel it—a dense, crushing energy ahead, like the universe itself is collapsing into a single point. A black hole. That’s the only way I can describe it. The space around me twists and distorts, and it feels like everything is rushing toward this one spot. My body—or whatever part of me is left—gets lighter, almost weightless, but the force pulling me is relentless, and it’s fast.

The anguish built like a fever, twisting and warping my expression into a rictus mask of torment. I clutched my brow as if to hold the tempest of emotions battering within at bay, only to unleash a peal of deranged laughter. "You're... you're a BLACK HOLE, Nathan!" I shrieked, shuddering violently. "A cosmic void that endlessly slams more and more bodies into its singularity, c-coldly disintegrating them into formless streams of hawking radiation spat out from the other side!" I began staggering in place, flailing as if the forces of entropy surrounded and battered me from all sides.

But the portal didn’t slow down. With one final, violent pull, the world around us vanished—and we were swallowed whole. I didn’t see anything. Just darkness. Endless darkness. Just the sensation of falling from a tall building, forever. My stomach dropped, my body weightless and helpless. But instead of hitting the ground and scattering into a million pieces, we fell on sand.

And then I watched her uttering something desperately, almost maniacally… I was about to be pulled into the black hole when suddenly; it seemed to shrink. Finally, it vanished with an angry pop and I fell to the ground like a puppet whose strings were cut. My heart was beating frantically, and I had trouble breathing, but I didn’t know what exactly I was feeling. I was not feeling scared or relieved. I guess I was feeling numb… Maybe I was in shock?

It was a black hole a miniature, hungry void spinning with a sound like a low, grinding growl. I flicked my wrist. The gravity shifted, and the void inhaled. Lysandra didn't even have time to register the end. She was pulled into the event horizon, a brief, muffled shriek swallowed by the silence of the vacuum, and then she was gone. Wiped from the map. Erased.

“Did you behave?” Gabrielle beamed, all innocence. “Of course, Officer.” Brandon clearly didn’t believe a word of it. Felicity tugged on his sleeve. “He asked me about space. We talked about black holes.” Brandon stared at her. “Black holes.” “Yes.” She nodded, excited now. “Did you know that time slows down near the event horizon? If you fell into one, you’d experience time differently than someone outside of it.” Scott leaned toward Gabrielle. “Is that a pickup line?”
