Chapter 52 The Bromance LEO’S HOME, LOS ANGELES. Smiling at his phone screen, Leo almost missed a foot at the top of the stairs. He was engrossed with the babbling and show of colors Sinclair was dishing out on the video call. The little boy seems like a tech guru who enjoys spending premium time on his gadgets. Without help Sinclair makes a video and audio call to his father on his own. And he does so every morning whenever he wakes up before his nanny comes to get him.

My fingers were shaking on the keys. ​"Arthur wanted a daughter. I wanted a legacy. Leo was the prototype. You were the final build." ​"Liam," I said, looking up. "The second child. He isn't my brother." ​"No," Eleanor said. "He’s the first iteration of the Medusa logic. A biological core. Why do you think he can use the emitter without a suit, Isabella? Why do you think he looks so much like me?" ​I looked at Leo on the screen. He wasn't breathing. Not really. His chest didn't move.

Bianca looked back at the screen. She looked at Thorne’s shark-like smile. She knew it was a trap. She knew that if they went to D.C., Leo would be a lab rat for the rest of his life.

Dom let out a nervous chuckle at that moment, taking me off guard, before he says under his breath, “I wish that fate, included me.” Secretly, I wish that fate did include him too, but that ship had sailed a long time ago, when he made the choice to accept his father’s contract between him and Luna Rebeca, but I could clearly see now why he had done it. She was everything I wasn’t, and she was what was best for this pack, and I knew now that I never could have competed against her.

I crossed my arms under my chest as I stared at Jessica who blocked my way. I was surprised how she managed to locate me. It seemed she was waiting for me. She snapped out of her thoughts as she felt his teeth grazing on her neck, around the area she was supposed to be marked, and a sudden electricity exploded between them and goosebumps spread on her body. She pushed him when she noticed he was going to sink his teeth into her skin and she met his eyes which had a burning sensation as he was emitting on her. Leo took in her appearance from her head too toe and a lazy smile curled up the sides of his lips. It seemed that the moon goddess had decided to bless him with a perfect woman after waiting patiently for his mate. He was 23 years old was still without a mate until then. He had waited patiently to find her all these years but he could not.

We haven’t spoken alone since the last time I was with him, refusing to reject him and telling him what I expect. I don’t know what our future is.
