When Family Betrays You Novels & Stories

I expected to see some guilt, some remorse on his face but there was none. "The Mendoza family needed your inheritance to expand their business. It was a mutually beneficial arrangement. You were always too naive to understand business," he plainly answered. "And you don't have to worry about this, you can always marry someone else and make as many babies as you want." I stared at him with wide eyes. Once, a man I considered my pillar turned out to be the root of my betrayal. I meant nothing to him. How could my baby mean something to him? I was indeed naive to trust the people I had called family.

“It seems like he has been working against you.” His expression blanked, no longer able to read what was behind those onyx eyes. For the first time, Lazarus strewed in silence, a clear blockage between us. “Family can betray you; I know that better than anyone else.” His sorrowful eyes locked on mine, swirling with disdain. “I told you Ma Cherie, I’m no stranger to betrayal.” Guilt clung to soul, squeezing my heart because I was one of those people. I betrayed him the moment I decided to join The Rebel’s Creed.

“Aren’t you the one keeping secrets from my father? The very man who trusts you with his life more than anyone else, even more than me, his own son?” “You don’t understand; my case is different." Levine snapped. “Your father betrayed me first. He killed the only woman I ever loved... just because she came from a family he held a grudge against. It's not the same." He explained. Caesar leaned back in his chair. "That’s exactly my point. Betrayal doesn’t come out of thin air. It’s triggered by something, most times, pain, desperation, and anger. Just like my father’s paranoia and clouded judgement triggered your betrayal, there’s something out there that could trigger Zayn’s betrayal of Jayden

"I knew you wouldn't walk away. Just like mother. But don't be sad. I've already prepared a family reunion in jail. You, Nova and mother. Isn't it what you've always wanted?" He scoffed, struggling against the hold of the officers as they drag him away. "Fuck you. You'll pay for this. This is not the end. Mark my words!" As his voice faded, silence took over, the fact that I had betrayed my family boring a hole deep and wide into my chest as I crumbled to the floor in pain and tears. I had always wanted a family, and elder brother, people to play with, talk with, gossip with and bond with.

“That's really considerate of you but I have people who are still rooting for me, people who I wine and dine with happily.” "But family first, they never betray you!" I said, trying to persuade him "Family first, they never betray you!" He repeated my words, smirking at me before turning and walking away. I let out a sigh. Poor dude was betrayed by his parents so badly that he doesn't want to trust anyone again and not even Hazel and I. He preferred being a lone wolf. Life must be extremely tough for him but what's tougher now was making sure I wasn't making the wrong decision.

Family is supposed to be our safest haven. Yet very often, it's the place where we can attain the deepest heartache. Perhaps, most of us wouldn't really understand how some people we call family could relentlessly hurt us the most more than a total stranger could ever do. "If I were you, you would tell me now. Because even if I set you free, the one behind this wouldn't let you roam the streets knowing that you could betray them any time. They must have known now that we had caught and brought you here. So, think about it properly, buddy. And, don't try to fool me."

And this time I hugged mom tighter, and let her cry on my shoulder. She was just guilt tripping and had good intentions for her sister. She was taken advantage of. That teaches a lesson, that just because you made a mistake, doesn't mean you will open you heart bare to someone, who is hiding a dagger behind her. Be pathetic but never put your guards down. But I guess, we don't apply the rule on family. With them you have faith and maybe that's why the biggest betrayal comes from the dearest people. My mom just wanted people around her happy, but people around her took advantage of her goodness.

"And in the end, you made the entire family carry the blame for your affair." "This blood debt, how do you intend to settle it!" Another head spoke up, just as cold. "The Graves family can have a mistress. It can have a bastard son. It can have a woman kept in the dark." "What it cannot have is a Don who destroys an ally's daughter with his own hands for the daughter of a blood enemy." "That is betrayal." The moment this word fell, every face in the room darkened. Betrayal. It was the kind of charge that opened a tribunal, that stripped a man of power, that could even cost him his life.

I cut him off, “who you love, who you want to have a child with, none of that concerns me.” “All I know is that when I was still your wife, you cheated.” “You used the money I made to support another woman and her family.” “And you even wanted her to have a baby, put it under my name, and make me into some pathetic sucker.” With every sentence, his face drained a little more. “I…” His mouth opened, but no sound came out. “Whether you love Emma or not makes no difference to me.” I looked straight at him, word by word. “The moment you betrayed me, you should’ve known this day would come.”

"Maybe she has her own sources." "Stop lying to me!" Alexander's voice boomed through the room, causing Riley to flinch. "For once in your life, stop lying and tell me the truth. Why did you betray your own family?" "Betray?" Riley's voice cracked with hysteria. "I betrayed the family? What about you, Dad? What about you choosing that gold-digging whore and her psychotic daughter over your own blood?" "Watch your mouth." "Why should I? Nothing I say matters anymore, does it? Nothing I do is ever good enough for you. Ryder can betray you by giving the cctv to Evie and you barely blink, but God forbid I defend myself against some trailer trash nobody who tried to destroy my life."
