Vincent looked at Melanie's pale face and sighed in resignation. "Stay here, please. I'm begging you." Melanie felt her heart skip a beat. She wanted to tell him that it was fine because she was used to being alone anyway. She wanted to tell him it wouldn't be appropriate because she didn't want to cause him any trouble. ’ I thought wryly, knowing it’s probably one of those lifetime fantasies that will never come to reality. The chance of me getting a man I love enough to do that with is not only slim but almost impossible and I know I am definitely not the type to go on such an adventure without someone important beside me, accompanying me and sharing the moment together. It is even a surprise to know I still have such desires in me. After my childhood nightmares, I had thought such silly things had left my brain. But I guess one is never too old to dream and fantasise and it is an undeniable truth that with my having to grow up faster than my age, I had missed out on many things that are taken for granted
