- 14th February 2017 - Valentine's Day. The day that signified love. Not necessarily for couples only, I believed it was for anyone with a heart. Anyone who longed to love or anyone who had the chance to be in love. It was a touchy subject that I had a tendency to avoid. For many reasons. However this year, I was celebrating it alone. As per usual. As usual, my best friends had given me flowers sent to my house in honour of the love we had as best friends, I did the same for the each of them too as they were like my sisters now. They knew everything about me and that was love.

Some approach me with curiosity and forced politeness, while others glare with unabashed envy and spite. Today, however, the atmosphere in the perfumery is decidedly different. Many employees are eating chocolates and boasting roses or heart-shaped cards. Even Pauline seems to be in a good mood. It takes me a few minutes to understand the cause of such celebratory commotion. It’s Valentine’s Day.
