When Table Turns Mga Nobela at Kwento

I liked the fact that she was working hard, but are there no better place to work in Fothoman? “ You should serve the next table. I’d let you keep any tip you get from the table you serve” “ I don’t know…” I gave her an uncertain look. “ It’s easy. See that table over there” she pointed me to a table of three people whose back are turned to us “ they are not gaming, but they may want some bear or cocktail. Go ask what they want?”. I laughed, thinking she was joking. When I read her face, my eyes went wide “ you don’t mean that, do you?”

"You play? I've got twenty bucks riding on this game." "Well in that case let me finish it for you." Stan turned to Mike and held up his hands in a what-are-you-gonna- do gesture. "I guess Mary's gonna play for me. You mind?" Mike howled with laughter. "Haha. Go ahead. It's your money." I winked at Stan, noting his uncertain expression. They both watched in amazement as I cleaned up the table, potting the last four balls in quick succession. I swiped the two twenties off the table and handed them to Stan, who stood there shocked.

Omegas come and moved their plates down while setting new plates in front of the pair. Tia is still standing next to me and watching everything like I am. I lean in close to her so I can speak in her ear. “Am I missing something? Why are you guys vacating your spots at the head of the table?” Tia turns to me, and the look on her face is a bit scary.

“Nope. We’ve got to flip the bottle, don’t you think? luther grin ... Alright then you get to flip first.” romeo pushed his chair back and stood up, the scrape of wood against the floor cutting through the chatter. In an instant, every eye at the table shifted to him. Even the girls Timothy had brought along stopped their side conversations, watching. Alex didn’t make a move to leave, which meant he was staying in. Luther noticed, and a slow smirk tugged at the corner of his mouth. The bottle spun on the table’s surface, wobbling unsteadily before it slowed and settled. The neck came to a stop pointing straight at David.

"Table ten, right?" The lady nodded, appreciated me, and ran off to relieve herself. I scanned the room from where I was, hoping to see the table number waving back at me. But I was too far away to see anything meaningful, so I readied my feet to begin the search for Table Ten. "Ladies and gentlemen, I will like to present to you, the man of the day, Dominic Powers!" The crowd cheered as the emcee who was up on the stage talked. I was still walking and searching for table ten when a bright light fell on my face.

Evan quickly follows suit and I smile at them, turning back to the scene in front of me. The table is decorated nicely. Candles line the middle of the table and pastel pink flowers decorate the space in between. They must be for Ella. My eyes flicker to Sebastian. Nice touch. “So,” Sebastian’s voice slices through the silence. All of our eyes lock onto him. “Who’s ready to eat?” He claps his hands together.

That was the price. And with five tables running tonight, I’d have to win my own table and the final table just to get a chance. And if they raised the pot high enough, even victory would mean defeat. “Let’s not waste more time, shall we?” I said coolly to Thorne, then turned my attention to the table. The dealer handed out the cards. I glanced down—diamond 7, spade 7. A pair. Not magic, but with a little luck? Maybe four of a kind.

"Were you?" Mr. Dallas continued, "Julia?" "Alex? " Julia laid the pressure on me. What was Julia's deal and why did she seem so immersed in a battle that wasn't hers in the first place? "Hmm, " Mr. Dallas adjusted for comfort, "There's something we call 'The Last Card', in cases like this, where the situation seems unclear, we refrain from any form of action until our 'suspect' here isn't proven otherwise. Then we can take action. We can flip the last card. "

Still, it was damaged, and I’d no doubt have to replace it. “Everything’s fine,” said Toran. I had knocked over a glass and the spark of power that echoed from my hand shattered the plates. There was a bit of a mess. “Get us another table, if you don’t mind.” Of course the waiter didn’t mind. It was his job, but that was Toran-ever the polite beta. “Yes sir. As you wish.” With a snap of the waiter’s fingers, the table disappeared and another reappeared with newly placed food.

I think about being ready. Across the table Tiara catches my eye. She tilts her chin up slightly. I tilt mine back. Ready.
