The door slammed shut with a final, echoing bang, plunging me into the sudden darkness of the storm-swept night. I stood there for a moment, shivering violently, the shock finally giving way to a tidal wave of raw pain.

That spot. “AAAAH!” I screamed again. A scorching pain flared at the base of my neck. It felt like someone poured lava directly into my veins. It hurt like pure hell, and part of me wanted to tear him away. But he was pinning me to the mattress, still driving into me. The searing pain from my neck combined with the mind-bending friction of his body inside mine. I realized I was hitting another high, something completely new. My nails raked his back. I was struggling, thrashing against the sheer madness of it all. Was I losing my mind? Can a person overdose on this much feeling?

Vary pours the last of her soft drink into her mouth, “how did your day go?” “Well, you deserve it best friend, my day was hell, had to talk to this girl who says she still sees her dead mother of five years and she believes what she’s seeing and called me Lucifer.” She barks out a laugh. “I almost bust out laughing because that was the last thing I expected to be likened to ‘cause I do hate Lucifer.” After laughing for another minute, Vary sympathises with her friend, who seems to get red with her crankiness. “You signed in to that drama, name-calling with crazy people, the moment you studied psychology in college.
