I told them I banished them. Instead of sticking around, I went out to a bar there I drown in my sorrows. I never had a good life growing up. I came from Germany, the only thing I was told was that when I was a baby, they found me in the trash, someone discover me from there. I was hopping around from different orphanages where I was being abused by children and adults.

I say after taking a sip of my latte, lowering my eyes. “Sixteen.” He repeats quietly, clasping his hands over his lap. “And where do you come from?” I tilt my head, surprised by so many questions... But what can I do? I came out of nowhere claiming to be the daughter of the owner of this place, so of course, he doesn’t believe me, and neither does the receptionist. At least he’s being nice... so I have to be honest. “Nevada.”

"Why did you do that to me? Why does everybody treat me like sh*t!?" He actually seemed agitated. "You're from this city, aren't you? You are one of those rich people, aren't you? Well, I'll tell you where I'm from. I'm from a backwater village! I came from the poorest, dirtiest, lowliest, most backward slums! My dad abandoned my mom and me when I was a baby, and then she died when I was 6! I survived by eating anything I could stuff my mouth with, okay? How else did you think I even got to live!?

Stephen said as we wandered back through the house, "tell me a little bit about yourself. Where are you from in Poland, and what brought you to this part of the world?" "I'm from a small town called Gdansk," I said with a rush of memories about home finding their way to my mind. “I didn’t plan on coming here, in fact, I don’t even know where this is. I was kidnapped by some people while I was on our little farm back at home.” I told him. I wasn’t going to hide it. My heartfelt calm with him, I felt at peace in this place, they weren't going to hurt me, that’s what I believed.

I ran a little towards him and said-" Oh thank god!!! I was looking for..." He cut me off by saying-" me?" I looked at him with doe eyes and I replied-" Sort of... But that is not the case... You see, I am not from this.. whatever this place is called... I came here from a portal. I was lost in here... I tried to find someone... But... I need to go back. Can you please help me?" He looked at me with suspicious eyes as he said-" Portal? tell me about it!!!"

So, where did this child come from, and where are its parents? This must have been the news article about me. From what I know, I was found at 2 weeks old- same as this baby. But, there was no record of me being born, which led me to wonder. Who am I, and where am I from? Who are my parents and where do they live? Are they still alive? Were they the ones who gave me up, or...? I didn't want to think that there was an 'or' to this story.

Glen brought tea without being asked, and for a few minutes we just sat quietly. Then I looked at Edan. "Can I ask you something?" "What?" "Mooncrest," I replied. "Do you know anything about it?" The shift in his expression was immediate. He looked at me like I had just said something unexpected in the middle of a completely ordinary afternoon. "Where did you hear that name?" he replied. "Dad mentioned it once when I was younger. He told me it was where his father was from. That he left there as a baby." I watched his face carefully. "I've been thinking about it recently. "So did you try looking for him perhaps some reasons why he disappeared like that" He asked "Where do I even look for him? I'm not even from here. Me getting to Hawthorne was a completely different trauma" I replied "What do you mean you weren't born in Hawthorne?" He asked surprised

My life was private to him. "Don't worry," Dr. Charles said as he gently touches me onto my right shoulder. "I've told him that you're just a friend daughter of mine staying with me for some time until you're ready to go home." I nodded, still nervous. "So, what if he asks me any question when I go downstairs about where I came from what should I tell him?" I inquire Dr. Charles. "I know nowhere else other than the forest I came from and this land." "Tell him you're from Starkville," Dr. Charles said.

I decide to stop gawking at this magnificent room, tasteful designed. "I wanted to ask you some questions," he begins. "You must be recovering from the shock two days ago." He looks into my eyes, and I hold his gaze. "I sense much better, thank you," I say without hesitation. "How did you end up here? Where did you come from, and where were you heading?" Nicollas fires off the questions. I take a deep breath and replay my mother's plan in my head. "I came from the mountains, though I can't say exactly how far from here. I escaped from there." I begin to tell him my story in the same way I told Lina.
