Aliyah's POV My stomach lurched as I fell, the sensation of gravity disappearing as it swallowed me whole. I tried to scream for Skylar, for Tyler, but the gag in my mouth turned my cry into a pathetic, muffled sob. The fall didn’t last as long as I expected. I hit something hard, not stone, but a thick layer of moss that smelled like old blood and stagnant water. The impact knocked the wind out of me. I rolled across the damp floor of whatever we had landed in, my silver chains clanking against the ground.

Georgia was by her side, stroking her hair. The activity seemed to move further back where I couldn’t see as well, but finding strength from somewhere I teleported to the top of the dome, desperate to take in what was happening. I watched as Godfrey shot nearly to me at the top and winked. Then with his crazy speed, he rammed his body into the ground, shaking the earth below. I raised my head to look off into the distance toward the human town, just as the solid base underneath me gave out. Before I knew it I was free falling in thin air, powerless to stop it as my energy was wiped. I hit something with a thud, only … it didn’t hurt.

The boy asked in shock. "I'm fine." I shrugged, trudging through the last of the waves. "Clara?" Confusion laced the mans voice. "What were you thinking?" He scalded after a moment. "Uh, there were wolves." I glanced back at the cliff where the wolves had been, they were gone now, the fear was starting to come back now that I was out of the water.

​The northern battlements didn't collapse; they slid. As the ancient stone ledge broke free from the sinking core of the fort, it acted like a massive sled, carrying Lyra and her family down the sloping wall of the expanding sinkhole. They hit the outer edge of the Taoudenni basin with a bone-jarring thud, tumbling onto the hard, unyielding salt crust just as the last of the carbon-fiber towers vanished into the swirling vortex behind them.

Then it snaps. Kiara and I jump the last few inches, our bodies shooting off the ground. The shock from the hard earth and the pinching pain from the arrows cause me to cry out. The pursuing wolves suddenly defend their way into the open mouth of the canyon as the structure collapses. Their screams fade until there is nothing left but silence broken only by our ragged breathing. We made it. I try to stand, but my legs give out. I hit the ground hard, vision swimming. “Theo,” Kiara says, dropping beside me. “Let me see—”

THIRD P.O.V. Zack and his group made it to the far side of the waterfall. The cobblestone was slick with water, making it difficult to get across, but they made it. The hidden cave was behind the waterfall, covered with vines and rusted bars. Zack and Bronx grabbed a hold of the bars and pulled. The motion shook the entire cave, with debris falling in multiple places. “We can’t pull this out without bringing this whole thing down,” Zack said, stepping back. Mary walked up to the bars and examined them before squeezing right through. “Well, that’s one way to do it.”

Gen pulled me. I'm snoring because I'm so full, then if you can pull it out, you'll think my stomach is empty of food. You know it's lazy to move when you're full haha. But I didn't complain anymore. I just drifted here until we came to a large window covered with glass. Before we even got close, I immediately saw what Gen meant, so I ran to the window and almost kissed the glass. Holy shit! Is this for real? They are mountains and they are freaking floating! But no matter how I blink, I can see the floating mountains. How did they happen? Isn't gravity trendy here? Or maybe we're in outer space?
