The word discharge landed heavily.
Nora glanced at Jaden instinctively.
He didn’t look relieved. He looked concerned.
After the doctor left, silence settled again, heavier than before.
“I’m not ready,” Nora admitted quietly.
Jaden leaned against the wall, arms crossed. “I know.”
“It’s not the hospital,” she clarified. “It’s what’s waiting outside it.”
He nodded once. “Campus.”
“And everything attached to it,” she added.
Trisha entered moments later, phone in hand, expression tight. “You’re trending,” she said bluntly.
