She assigned both I and Samantha my cousin to the stable, claiming it was a good thing we came. As I and Samantha arrived at the stable, the other girls who had arrived earlier, couldn’t help but stare. One of them, a bubbly blonde, whose name I later found out was Charlotte, finally asked, “Hey, where are you from? You don’t look like you’re from around here.” Samantha tensed by her side and I smiled, trying to turn the conversation into a funny joke. “Oh, I’m from a far-off land, where the skies are always green and the grass is as red as my lips.”

He chuckled and spared me a quick glance. "I'm from Michigan." I answered. His brows raised. "And what brings you here in this small town?" I looked away from him and swallowed. I didn't want to talk about what brought me here. If I do, I'd have to mention my mom. I wasn't ready to talk about her. Thankfully Foster understood and changed the subject. " So are you an introvert or extrovert? You know, I need to know if we can hang." He joked, making me giggle.

"How did The Outsiders know you were there? They must have smelled your blood " "Kellen, someone sent them." "What?" "Shush!" I said, looking back toward the bathroom. "Yes, one of them said that it was someone from the United States." I shook my head as I took another sip of blood. "Did they say who?" Kellen asked, concerned. I shook my head. "No. The only thing I got out of one of them was that a man had sent two of them from the United States and the other was from Aruba."
