Kol The whiskey didn’t burn anymore. I continued to stare into the glass hoping that maybe the answers would be found, maybe I would only need to wait long enough, maybe the drink would simply tell me what the hell the next thing to do was. Once, the heat of it had meant something. A punishment, maybe. A reminder I was still here, still breathing. A way to take the edge off after nights that never seemed to end. Now it was just a reflex. A meaningless routine that did nothing to dull the real ache pressing in on all sides.

Whiskey. We laid silently for hours, side by side, neither one of us speaking. It was strangely comfortable. “Whiskey?” Gunner’s voice whispered, breaking the silence. “Yes?” I whispered back. He took a deep breath and shuffled on the spot, “I want to take you back with me, to my pack” he said quietly. I rolled over onto my side to face him. He was laying on his stomach, cuddling his pillow under his chin. “Why?” I asked with a frown. He laid his cheek on the pillow and looked over at me. It was pitch black, yet I could see the blue of his eyes swirling through the darkness.

His words help me settle down for a brief second. “What’s the point, Lucas?” I ask him through gritted teeth. “Huh? What is the point of anything anymore?” I shrug him off me and make my way to the one thing I didn’t completely destroy- the bar. I grab a bottle of whiskey and two glasses. I fill them both up to the rim and hand one to Lucas. He hesitantly takes the glass, clearly not in a drinking mood. Fuck it all. I bring my glass to my lips and down it all in two gulps. The liquor burns the back of my throat and I feel my body wanting to reject it, but I need to numb myself from the inside out.

It sounds necessary. "Fine. Maybe I will." "There she is," Lilla purrs. "Call me if you wake up with regrets. Or rope burns." "Thanks babe. Always so supportive." I laugh. "Always here for you hun." We hang up and I drift to the kitchen, pouring myself two fingers of whiskey neat. The amber liquid catches the light, warm and promising. I sip, and it scorches its way down, slow and steady like a memory. Like muscle memory. Like a pulse under skin I forgot I had.

~Reid~ The whiskey burned. Not the kind of slow, warm sting that eased the edge off a bad day — this was the bitter kind. The kind that clung to your tongue and crawled down your throat like regret. The kind you drank alone, even when you weren’t alone. Lila sat across from me at the bar in the private lounge, legs crossed, lips painted crimson, eyes far too familiar. “You’ve had enough,” she said, reaching for my glass. I pulled it back before she could take it.

Whiskey. Neither one of us fell asleep. I could tell Gunner was awake by his breathing, and because he stank of anxiety. I don’t know what he was anxious about though. We lay silently for hours, side by side, neither one of us speaking. It was strangely comfortable. “Whiskey?” Gunner’s voice whispered, breaking the silence. “Yes?” I whispered back. He took a deep breath and shuffled on the spot, “I want to take you back with me. Back home, to my pack” he said quietly. I rolled over onto my side to face him. As my mother disappears, closing the door behind her, the silence returns, heavier and more accusing than before. I wobble my way over to the built in bar and take another bottle of whiskey. "What I have?" I scoff aloud. "What do I fucking have?"

I said with all seriousness. “You want to buy my alcohol?” The bartender asked as he yanked out a new bottle of alcohol named whiskey. “This is Whisky, a special type of alcohol. It’s quite expensive and rare. You think you can afford it?” “I’ll pay you double.” “Sold!” He exclaimed joyfully without hesitation. “Sold what?” The cowboy asked. “These gentlemen just bought the last bottle of whiskey. So, I must announce now that whiskey is unavailable for today,” the bartender said happily.

"What is it?" "I had a dream last night. The house of silence turned into five ladies." Lord White arched a brow. He knew the house of silence. His ancestors, he was told, turned five whispers into that house, placing a curse to keep them so forever, and making sure every human they whispered to did avoid the house. Anna went on with her dream. "A voice said to warn you not to go to the sea. It said you would meet its wrath, and you won't get across."

I craved a stiff drink to calm my nerves. The liquor cabinet in my room was well-stocked as usual. Whiskey had, at one point, become my preferred form of therapy. I plucked a glass from the shelf, seized the crystal decanter, and poured the dark amber liquid into my glass. As it grazed my lips, I closed my eyes, relishing the whiskey's flavor and the solace it provided. It was the only refuge left to numb the pain, a necessity. My mind cloaked in a fog from the alcohol's effects.
