The Wrong Bride, His Revenge

The Wrong Bride, His Revenge

Their small voices filled the room. Lily hugged my leg. "I am tired." I picked her up. "Then sleep." She rested her head on my shoulder. "Sing to me." I sang. A lullaby Anna used to sing. Soft. Low. Lily fell asleep in my arms. I laid her on the bed. Barnaby was tucked under her arm. Her small chest rose and fell. Rex walked to me. Put his arm around my waist. Pulled me close. "What are you thinking?"

Hey Little Songbird

Hey Little Songbird

"Oh. Well I'm not able to be there today. On her break, let her know I'll come pick her up." "Alright. Mr. Hades." Nino set down the phone, making a drink as Ophelia struggled through the song. Hush now, my baby Be still love, don't cry. Sleep like you're rocked by the stream. Sleep and remember my lullaby. And I'll be with you when you dream. Nino put his gloves on quietly. She was doing a little better than before, but she wasn't at her best. She'd never done a song without him there. Nino supposed she wasn't really accustomed to doing much without him anymore.

DEIMOS: The Alpha's Unchosen Mate

DEIMOS: The Alpha's Unchosen Mate

As soon as Gia comes into my warmth she flinches and quietens startled by the change of scent but once settled starts bawling once more. So I begin to sway a soft lullaby leaving my lips. I sing her the song of my pack. A song for pups. It's a scared lullaby calling to the Moon Goddess. My feet move side to side and my body rocks slowly. My palm rubs her back and she finally calms down. Hiccups shake her body and she snuggles into my neck.

I love the book but for some reason there was this last update that jumbled all the chapters and now I can't really keep reading because my next chapter is now one that I already read. I would very much like to have the book as it was before, without all the chapters being split into parts.

I'm not done with the book because I cannot ignore my family and work but every time I end with a chapter that breaks Lumina, my heart breaks too. And I carry the heartbreak until I can read again... You affect me so much and I love it! Worth every coin spent and I have few chapters left... ...

Sugar Baby

"Hey baby, still up?" "Hey, James. Yes, I am..." I tried to signal Jeremy with my hand to shut up, but he was looking at the medications that we got earlier. "Baby, here's the water now you need to take the drug in the morning okay, don't forget. I'll...." He finally shut up and formed a silent O with his mouth. Busted! "Lorraine, who's that? Is there a man in your bedroom at... twelve." He was calculating our time difference then groaned. He sounded upset.

An amazing story. You are a phenomenal writer. The way each character is introduced, both slowly ushered and rushed, make them feel real. You have made this book into a fine piece of literature, truly a job well done.

Tricked by the twin alphas

Tricked by the twin alphas

I sang a lullaby my mom had made up for me whenever I was a crying mess. Little girl, little girl Come to mommy's arms Don't be scared, I'm here With all our good luck charms Why do you fret so much? What happened to our silly dreams? If you want kisses, I've got a bunch And sunrays and moonbeams I sang softly, not wanting to startle Sharon or make her mad. Her breathing calmed down and soon her sobs were reduced to hushed whimpers and eventually, they stopped. She had fallen fast asleep, her nose still runny and her mouth hanging open. Her head rested on my shoulder and I looked at the little frail girl under the facade. The little girl that needed a lullaby to calm her down.

My Luna, Let's Fall In Love Again

My Luna, Let's Fall In Love Again

“Go back to sleep, mom. We’ll talk tomorrow. I just want to see you.” Catherine licked her dried lips, unbothered to object to her daughter, the omega sighed, “Okay. Fix yourself something in the fridge if you’re hungry. Okay?” “I will.” Giselle stepped inside the room. The Luna made her way to Catherine’s bed. Leaning in, the Luna placed a peck on her mom’s forehead, “Goodnight, mom.” “Goodnight, Gigi.”

Be My Baby

Be My Baby

“Do you mind?” Lian didn't answer immediately and seemed to think for a moment before speaking again. “It's no problem, and we have to get used to it from now on, it seems. It must look and sound very strange nowadays when husband and wife still use names to refer to themselves. So, let's do that.” Nathan's smile returned. Just a small agreement from Lian, and that already made him satisfied. “Okay, then it's decided. Me and you—no, I mean me and you... Babe or Honey—starting to get used to talking this way.”

“I can’t promise I can do that.” “Shh.” Madame Humphrey waved her hand. “You just do your best. What I’m saying won’t make much sense to you. Yet. But things are about to change. You hold onto that ring. And if that light goes out,” she pointed to the ground next to her, “you get back here.”

LOVE OF MY LIFE

LOVE OF MY LIFE

he nodded his head I started singing the lullaby Lullaby, and good night, in the skies stars are bright May the moon, silvery beams, bring you with dreams Close you eyes, now and rest, may these hours be blessed Till the sky's bright with dawn, when you wake with a yawn Lullaby, and good night, you are mother's delight I'll protect you from harm, and you'll wake in my arms Sleepyhead, close your eyes, for I'm right beside you Guardian angels are near, so sleep without fear Lullaby, and good night, with roses be-dight Lilies o'er head, lay thee down in thy bed Lullaby, and good night, you are mother's delight

Betraying The Heartless Billionaire

GYPSY'S POV 🎶Now the sun turns out his light, Good night, sleep tight. Dream sweet dreams for me, Dream sweet dreams for you. Good night, Good night, everybody, Everybody, everywhere, Good night.🎶 I shut my eyes after the lullaby ends and force a yawn out of myself, ready to sleep like I've been for the past three hours. Five minutes later, I'm staring eyes wide into the darkness. Ugh. What the heck?

Frequently Asked Questions

'And Then He Sang a Lullaby' is this beautiful, gut-wrenching novel by Ani Kayode Somtochukwu that dives deep into love, identity, and the brutal realities of being queer in Nigeria. It follows two university students, August and Segun, whose lives collide in a way that’s both tender and tragic. August is this quiet, introspective guy who’s still figuring out his sexuality, while Segun is more outgoing but carries his own scars. Their relationship unfolds against a backdrop of societal homophobia, family expectations, and personal demons. What really gets me is how the author doesn’t shy away from the raw, messy emotions—joy, fear, heartbreak—all tangled up in the struggle to just exist as yourself.

What stands out is how the book balances the sweetness of first love with the harshness of external pressures. The scenes where August and Segun steal moments of happiness—whispered conversations, stolen touches—are so vivid, they stick with you. But then there’s the other side: the violence, the fear of being discovered, the weight of cultural norms. It’s not just a love story; it’s a survival story. The ending left me staring at the ceiling, thinking about how love can be both a refuge and a risk in places where it’s forbidden.
