She told me they were making many flavors so that there would be something for everyone. I couldn't help myself. I started sampling the cookies. Lila is beautiful and when she gets frustrated I notice her breathing quickens just a little bit, but she remains otherwise calm.

“Then let’s go.” Annabelle turned to Lily, who was standing nearby, and called out softly, “Lily, come here for a sec.” Lily hurried over getting the hint, cradling little Alan in her arms. Her eyes sparkled as she lifted him slightly. “Alright, young master, let’s see what special treat Seb whipped up for you this morning. Bunny-shaped cookies—chocolate ones. Think we should try them first?” Alan wrinkled his nose, hesitant at first, but the sight of the little bunny-shaped treats made his eyes light up. A wide grin spread across his face. “Cookies? Bunny cookies?”

said Evandor motioning towards his favorite sofa set and Lily sat on the sofa next to Percy. “About sugar, have some Bakhlavas” said Evandor moving the plate towards her smiling. “Oh wow, thank you. I really like premium turkish delight” She said excitedly before taking one in hand but stopped her hand in front of her mouth and glanced at Evandor suspiciously. ‘Why would he offer desert to me? Did he mix something in this? Is there a combination wolfsbane, mistletoe and chloroform in it?’ thought Lily, sniffling the sweet.

Lily challenged. "You mean poker?" Lyla asked and Lily nodded "No thanks, I don't want to taint my victory," Lyla rejected. "How about I make it interesting," Lily said with a smirk. "How interesting?" Lyla questioned as Derrick looked on. "The winner gets to eat lunch prepared by Derrick," replied Lily. "Hey!" Derrick said with an eyebrow raised and Lily winked at him. "Plus, chocolate fudge," Lyla suggested. "Done," Lily replied and Derrick's jaw dropped.

“I could not remember what you said we needed. I just remembered tall, skinny bottle on the second shelf.” Wow. I am completely floored. “Ok, fine. But did it not occur to you that tabasco sauce is a little too spicy for something as sweet as chocolate chip cookies?” He smiled coyly. “Perhaps if it was someone else making the cookies it might have. But you, dear Lily, are the definition of spicy and sweet.” I blushed. Ever since I got here, Brady has developed an amazing ability to make me blush almost at the snap of his fingers.

I mused. Lily scooped more and more. She had like three spoonfuls before she answered me. "This tastes crazy. Just for a vanilla flavor. I wonder how chocolate would taste of the mix." The plan was to cool off her mind and I was making that happen. The angry expression was replaced with an amused expression.

Lily coughed, with her eyes wide as she tried to open the oven door without getting her face hit by the hot air. "Under control? It smells like you're cremating something in there. You didn't tell me anything about baking!" I couldn't help but clamp a hand over my mouth to stop myself from laughing. Lily glared at me. "What were you even making again?" I asked, stepping closer. "Cookies," she muttered, waving more smoke away. Her mum grabbed the oven mitts and pulled the tray out herself. The cookies... if you could even call them that... we're pitch black. Not dark brown. Black.

"But the Trial of Fire is for the uncertain. My children are not a question. They are the answer." ​I reached into the small pouch at my waist and pulled out a handful of crushed white petals—Lunar Lily, a rare flower that only grows where the True Bride walks. Half an hour later, the pandan-flavored cookies were already being smelled by anyone who passed by the kitchen. Lily smiled as the dull green pukis were put into a container.
