Scratch. The sound was faint. A claw on stone. Phineas leaned his forehead against the cold pane. Down below, at the edge of the treeline, a single black wolf sat. It wasn't shifting. It wasn't growling. It was just sitting there, its coat absorbing the shadows of the forest. The wolf’s eyes weren't yellow. They weren't the amber of a common pack member. They were red. A glowing, predatory crimson that burned through the dark like a pair of embers from a dying fire.

I hissed in pain. I was about to snap at him, but when I saw his eyes, my mouth sealed shut. Fear kept me frozen, I didn't dare struggle against his hold. His eyes were black. Pure black. Normal wolves had yellow glow, Alphas had red, but Caden's was black. It was the first time I was seeing a glow like that. It terrified the hell out of me. And it made it worse to know his fury was the reason behind this. He could kill me!

My wolf is alert and just beneath the surface. The meeting point was an abandoned gas station outside the city. Perfect for an ambush, terrible for peace talks. But I knew the man who stood waiting. Tall. Scar over his brow. Yellow eyes that hadn’t dulled with time. “Grim,” I muttered. He smiled. “Kelvin. Still alive.” “Barely. What are you doing here?” “We come in peace.” “Who’s ‘we’?” Grim stepped aside. Four wolves stood behind him. None shifted. None growled.

Then it lay down and kept snarling at Tyr. Tyr only realized that figure was a black wolf at that point. There was very little difference in appearance between this wolf and the other regular wolves outside of Helsby Mountain. However, it was one size larger than the regular wolves. Furthermore, the wolf’s eyes were bright red. It had murderous intent leaking out of its eyes, especially after Tyr stabbed it. Howl, howl, howl! The wounded wolf was howling toward the air, and there was a dangerous aura that came from all directions.

Tents and sleeping gears, fireplace and extra clothes. I decided to shift into my wolf to run around. It is always good to build stamina. My wolf was different than the rest. Mostly, wolves would have bright to black furs. Mine had crescent white. Regular wolves would have shining yellow eyes, I had ash white. But the thing is, I could shift my eye colors, red to complete dark when I'm on vamp mode and back to white when I'm wolfed. I've never actually tried to mix them yet. I knew deep inside me that I was never near ready.

"It’s the first time I’ve seen such a disgusting wolf." I know... I always feel disgusted with myself. My eyes glanced at the other wolf. It was strange that it didn’t make any movement and only chose to watch us. It was calm and staring intently at me. I gulped down. Admittedly, it was different from the other two; its body was large. Its aura was too powerful and dominant, its coat jet-black, and its eyes... Its pair of crimson red eyes were pinned on my face as if it was trying to read my mind.

As the wolf stalked towards me, I felt these tinge in my soul. This tug. I screamed as the white wolf I was seeing turned into a grey wolf in only a blink of an eye. Instead of the golden eyes, the white wolf had, the grey one had red ones. Red eyes that seemed to be burning. I didn't know if I was lost because of the wolf that seemed to change its very appearance in front of me or if it was because this same dangerous wolf was advancing to where I was, but a scream tore from my lips once again.

So, seeing him sitting dazed on the woodland floor, cradling his torn-up and bloodied arm, I knew instantly that something wasn't right. The moment I gazed into that mega wolf's eyes; I knew it was Freya. I mean it had to be, or at the very least another hunter. See, it had eyes exactly the same as our own. They were ice blue in color, and they had our signature white vortex swirling around the pupil. There was no way that any hunter could say that they didn't recognize them eyes, we all have them just before we ascend.

She was restless for the last hour. I reached the middle of the forest when suddenly a white wolf came out of the trees and stood in front of me. The wolf was large, his fur was shining under the moonlight and his aura was powerful. He didn't seem like a rogue as his eyes weren't red. Usually rogues have red eyes while he had grey. Red eyes is a sign that their wolves have complete control over them. Maybe he wasn't a rogue for too long or he was just a wolf that got lost. What is certain is that the color of his fur is very rare! This color was not prevalent around here.

Me: Go on… Susi: Heehee, I feel your jealousy. Don’t think you can hide it. Anywho… she said it has red eyes and stood up on hind feet. It was bipedular, so there is no mistaking it to be the Vargulf. Kyla asked her if they had done anything to make it angry, and she said no. Me: It doesn’t mean the beast wasn’t angry at them for stepping into its territory. Red eyes on a wolf can be anger or an Alpha’s status. When not in our Lykos form, our eyes are green.
