Why Are Gambit's Eyes Black Novels & Stories

My hands move around my body as I start to feel for the ones that I know were there and find them missing. I blink at the mirror rapidly as I immediately start to notice how many more similarities I now have with my brother. I would say that the most daunting thing however are my eyes. Where they were once black and soulless, now they are bright. The black of them can still be seen but as you look now it's as if the entire night sky has been placed into my pupils. The bastard's nickname is actually an apt description for how they appear. I throw a murderous look in his direction as he fights to hold the mirror still through his laughter.

His watery eyes crinkle. "Do not thank me, child. I'm only doing my job as the Lord's servant. Thank you for your presence. I'm sorry we got off on the wrong foot, but surely if you had seen your eyes you too would have been alarmed." He beckons to me and I follow him to the small fountain in the corner. I am leery as I peer in, but I gasp. "Oh my!" My eyes are huge, and solid black. Almost mimicking those of a horse. Deep, glossy black. Soulless. My neck is slightly grey from being broken. Green hair is rumpled and has remnants of dried blood. "I'm ghastly..."

"Mh, I love when my food puts up a fight. The adrenaline makes them taste so much sweeter." A thud sounded behind me, and I stopped walking and turned to face the woman. Her blonde hair was in a thin bun on her head, and her lips were dry and cracked. Her skin was sucked tight against her bones, and beyond the scratch on her cheeks where a small amount of dried blood sat, they were pale and colorless… unlike her eyes. Those were black, different than anything I had ever seen. Instead of just the irises being black like bears had, the orbs were entirely black, reflecting their soul.

She wasn’t fooling him one bit. The thing that unnerved him slightly was her eyes. They weren’t their typical sage green; they were entirely different. Black, like coals from a snuffed fire. Pools of shimmering darkness. It was unsettling, but Ryan couldn’t risk getting lost in them; it didn’t matter what her eye colour was now, or why she was still alive. What mattered was burying her once and for all, and then reclaiming what had been rightfully his since birth. The pack!

I looked at her, gesturing for her to look at Gilbert. Ivana rolled her eyes at me, then turned to a seemingly unaffected Gilbert, who just stood there glaring at me. “Earlier today when we walked in, both his eye balls were black. Now, one's blue and the other is black…. Who are you?” Ivana spoke this time, stepping away from him and coming to stand beside me. I know you haven’t said a Goddess damned word to your own aunt and uncle about the loss of Logan.” “Why would I?” His fingers fly over the controls, his glittering violet eyes reflecting the game as I round the sectional, tracing my fingers over the top. His eyes weren’t always that color. They used to be a dark, stormy blue, like his father’s. Unlike some of his siblings who were born with eyes the color of a pale purple lilac, Blake’s… changed, and now radiate power he can’t turn off. It’s unsettling looking at him, honestly.

His full face came to view and I feel my eyebrows reach the roof. Although his hair was sleeked backwards, the strength of whatever gel product he had used was wearing off, letting loose a small curl of baby hair on his face, right above his other eyebrow that I didn’t see before, shaped to match the second, making it look like he had a constant glare. His eyes were pitch black, I’ve never seen that shade of black before, in fact I’ve only ever seen really dark brown eyes before. But deep within what seemed like a never ending pit of black iris, held a color, red, deep flaming red, like what humans used to describe hell. It looked like his wolf’s eyes.

“Invite him into your life. Drink her dry.” Just as Gage opened his eyes, his eyes were no longer the blue color they were, they were black. He lost what he was, and he bit down on her neck. She screamed out in pain, she tried clawing at him but grew instantly weak as the life drained from her. She died slowly and when he finished her body turned to ash.

Gregory thought to himself as he stared at Gabriella. Garret stepped back with fear in his eyes. “This… I've seen this before. It can't be—the ghost of the black burn pack,” he thought to himself as he recalled a white being tearing through his forces many years ago. Gabriella suddenly vanished and reappeared behind him. She placed her left hand on top of his head and grabbed his lower jaw with her right hand, then twisted his head off his body in an instant. As Garret’s body fell to the ground, Gabriella's hair turned black again, and her irises turned bright red.

I hissed in pain. I was about to snap at him, but when I saw his eyes, my mouth sealed shut. Fear kept me frozen, I didn't dare struggle against his hold. His eyes were black. Pure black. Normal wolves had yellow glow, Alphas had red, but Caden's was black. It was the first time I was seeing a glow like that. It terrified the hell out of me. And it made it worse to know his fury was the reason behind this. He could kill me!
