For the first time, Coral notice a small smile on his lips which made her cheeks redder. It is now his time to stare at her. Coral sips her drink while stealing glances at him. The atmosphere is awkward enough when none of them are talking. To break the ice, Coral asks, “So um, why did you agree to come to this date?” She is genuinely curious to know what his answer will be. “Family bonding, arrange marriage profits the families business. I assume you have the same reason as mine.” Coral is surprised to find that a man like him can also be forced into marriage. She nods and places her glass on the table.

Repulsive. “Think about it, Nathan,” Coral said softly, her voice low and persuasive. “She had the perfect opportunity. She was with him every day. She could have easily slipped something into his drink and made it look like his illness got worse. She wanted the power that comes with being Luna, and she was willing to do anything to get it.” “That’s a lie!” I screamed, my voice cracking under the pressure. “I didn’t kill him! Coral is lying, Nathan, please, you have to believe me!”

My heart started to pound as I shoved people out of my way moving farther down to the womens door. “STELLA!” I tried again. Nothing still. Fuck. Collin was right behind me, wondering the threat. “Trevor! Bathroom!” Coraline came busting out of the womens bathroom, panic across her face. I ran past her, slamming my body into the swinging door into the restroom to see Stella in the corner, her fangs out, holding a man at arms length away from her. He was big and he was trying to paw at her dress.

Upon hearing her name, Coral couldn't help but straighten her chest, walking more elegantly past the guys. Then, she heard someone saying without lifting their head, "Come on, Coral's painting got crushed by 'The Northern Maiden.' It's a shame you're studying art and can't understand it. Besides, that painting sold for a billion, while Coral's only fetched a few bucks." Coral's face instantly became extremely embarrassed. Bena, standing nearby, witnessed Coral's discomfort and immediately cursed, "You guys only know how to talk, huh? If you're so capable, why don't you paint something that can win second place too!"

I thought, after hearing about the project launch, she would come back anyhow– Just then, the garden gate swung open with a harsh, metallic screech. The crowd fell into a stunned silence as Coralina stumbled into the venue. The afternoon sunlight was quite harsh, highlighting the jagged tear in her blazer and the grey soot smudged across her pale forehead. Her hair was a bird’s nest of tangles and a dark, damp stain on her side was the indication that some of her stitches had opened. Brielle’s smile twitched. She quickly tapped a message on the phone, hidden behind her notes: Why is she here? Fix this NOW, or I won't pay your dues.
