She ran her fingers along the seats, touching everything like she owned it.
I clenched my jaw, forcing a calm expression. Why does everything she does irritate me this much?
Maybe because every sound she made, every move she took, reminded me she wasn’t Loretta.
“Wow,” Edith said, dragging her fingers along the seats as if she were inspecting gold. “You really do travel in style. I could get used to this.”
I said nothing. I didn’t have the patience to correct her assumptions. Instead, I moved past her, dropped my phone and laptop on the side table, and settled into my usual seat by the window.
