I placed my hand on his forehead but I was forced to take it back when I saw how hot his temperature was. "Jesus! You're burning!" I quickly got off the bed and turned on the stove. I dunked water into a kettle and placed it on the stove. I knelt beside the bed and felt his temperature again, it was still very high.

"Heating blankets, heaters, anything warm. Turn this place into a sauna!" Nurses scurried around while Brooke pasted monitors to their temples. The heartbeats didn't register until finally a single beep for each popped on the screen. After a minute, another heartbeat beeped. Tom let out a breath he didn't know he was holding in. To his surprise, Lexi grabbed his hand. He looked over to her. She held Jimmy's hand with her other one. Brooke fumbled at their suits. "They have tech suits on. Let's plug those in and program it to heat them up. Quickly, now. Where's Ellie?"

Baylee’s POV “I didn’t think it was possible for bones to feel cold,” I whisper, shuddering as I pull the blanket Mum gave me tighter around my shoulders. “Here, let me,” Caden murmurs. His body needed more heat, she added more blankets, but what she needed was one of those hospital electric blankets. I almost heave out a sigh of relief when it dawns on me, the tone at which that announcement was made.
