I groan as the sharp pain makes my ears hurt as well. ‘Calm down,’ Amaia says gently. I let out a shaky sigh. Sweat trickles down my forehead and it is then that I realise that something is trickling out of my ears and nose. Thinking it’s sweat, I wipe it with my fingers only to realize that it is not sweat, but blood. I can only stare at the red-stained fingers in astonishment and…. Fear. Vivian noticed immediately and shouted to the classmates around her, "Hold her down! I'll take it off myself." At her command, several boys pinned my arms and legs. I was forced to my knees like some criminal awaiting punishment. Vivian stood over me, her disgust unfiltered—more brazen than she ever was in high school. I said as I pulled my hand back on my lap. “Wait, I missed this,” Allorah said as she pulls out a small pin. Holding my hand back, she fixes it. I watch curiously as her hands move diligently. “All…” Allorah mutter but stopped. Furrowing my eyebrows, I close and open my eyes. What was that? “Allorah?” I said as I snap my head up. Covering her face, Allorah stood up and back away.

"No, it's not crooked," he says and puts a piece of paper on my nose to soak up the blood, "It’s just a little blood, I didn't hit you too hard. It won't even turn purple."

She looked at the name and her eyebrows flew up. "Oh, you know Gabriel Mason?" she asked. "He's my… yes, I do," I said unsure why I felt the need to explain myself. "I'll go give him a call and be right back with your discharge papers." I touched my throat and was disconcerted by numbness there. It was a strange sensation, although still pain free. The nurse returned with papers and announced that Gabriel had been called and was on his way. "You might feel some pain once your throat thaws, but that’s completely normal, so is swelling and bruising. If there is any bleeding you should come right back here though, that’s not usually an expected outcome. Do you have any questions dear?" she aske

With it still trickling, I put a simple bandage over it. I look down at my shirt. It’s soaked in crimson. I changed and rushed out of the apartment while holding a napkin to my ear. I hurriedly walk the two blocks to the clinic without waiting for the bus. I check in, and the nurse hands me gauze and some meds to help staunch the bleeding. But it takes forever to be seen, and entering the exam room, there waits the same doctor, whose name I can’t remember. “How did you do this?” the doctor asks, looking over my ear.

Mable was very confident in her acupuncture skills. She could not have put the needle at the wrong point. Moreover, the silver needles used for acupuncture were extremely fine and could not cause bleeding under normal circumstances. Mable used gauze to press the bleeding spot. She thought the bleeding would stop soon, but blood continued to ooze out after almost ten minutes. The eye of the needle was small, so not much blood was flowing out. However, this could not go on. Mable took out the hemostatic ointment from her medical kit and put some on Blair’s arm, finally stopping the bleeding.

There was a faint ringing in my ear, I put my hand to my left ear and felt a liquid, I dabbed at it and looked at it, it was blood. I was bleeding from my ear. What the hell was that hag trying to do to me with her scream, fry my brain? I shook my head, the ringing had already subsided, my healing was kicking in. “If there are more like that here, we are going to have a hard time,” I told Claude. He grimaced, “We are in the thick of it now, no choice but to go through.” I nodded. He was right, we had gotten all the way here, there was no turning back now.
