Why The Novel Matters Novels & Stories

To be honest, I didn't think that many people were interested in this novel since the reviews are not that many and encouraging to me as a writer, and I don't know how my readers feel about the storyline. As I said, I write for my readers, and if you guys don't leave a review, I don't know what you want or if you guys are actually interested in the novel. That's why I ended it so quickly. But because of you, "Jane." I am willing to go back to my notebook and brainstorm on a few more chapters that will fall in line with the story plot and give it a better ending. But It might take a bit of time though.

Another woman behind the counter, grabbed the book from her. “He released a new one?” she asked, practically bouncing. “Man is on fire!” It was clear they were talking about Anthony’s latest novel. But what I couldn’t understand was... why did I care?

If this were only about financial gain, I wouldn’t continue putting so much care into it, especially considering the modest view count. While income is a factor for any writer, my priority has always been delivering a meaningful and satisfying story.

"What’s it about?" I shrug, trying to appear nonchalant, but there’s something about this book that feels different when I talk about it. "You should see for yourself." I offer it to him, holding it out, but he doesn’t take it. I feel a slight pang of disappointment. I want him to read it, for some reason, but I can't quite pinpoint why. The novel always makes me think of nothing but Jaydon and our situation—our marriage, the contract we’ve entered into. It reminds me of where I am, of what I’ve gotten myself into. It's strange how much it resonates with my life right now.

The food came. They talked. Not about the board review. Not about the foundation launch or the Ashford file or the returners meeting or any of the things that constituted the operational texture of their lives. About other things. She told him about a book she had been reading — the first book she had read for no reason other than she wanted to, in longer than she could accurately remember. A novel.
