Gina asked in disgust. "This is your food, Miss. It was prepared richly. Don't you like it?" the maid asked, confused. "Ewww! Is this what you call food?" Gina muttered, sniffing it. The maid grew suspicious. "Are you a werewolf?" she asked. "I don't know what that means, but please take your food away and bring me something else," Gina said, sitting on her bed. However, the maid walked towards her, staring directly into her eyes. She reached for Gina's neck and sniffed her body, causing Gina to recoil in shock.

CHAPTER FOURTEEN — The House on Birchwood POV: Elena Voss I drove to Birchwood Drive entirely alone. I told myself I was simply gathering vital diagnostic information. That was the truth. Mostly. The other, much uglier truth was that I needed to see it with my own eyes. I didn't want photographs, deeds, or forensic spreadsheets anymore; I needed to look at the exact physical location where my twenty-year marriage had gone to die.

she whispered. Marcus shook his head. “No, she can't.” “Did you see the way she smirked upon sighting Mabel?” “Clearly, she remembers her,” Alec murmured, folding his arms. “Who's she?” he asked, turning to Marcus. “A ghost. She was once ordinary woman— married, living in a respectable neighborhood. But when she discovered her husband’s affair, everything started spiraling. Friends noticed her withdrawing. Neighbors whispered about the fights in their house.”

She hisses getting out her serpent’s tongue. “The grant white witch that refuses to die, how do you stake your odds of surviving today?” Gwanhoya asks her but something is different about her. She cannot put it to words, is that why Wezhira called her a ‘fellow god’? She continues moving her head around her eyes closed. Genteel does not move staring at her as she moves her head hissing. She is not behaving like a normal human being. Darkness surrounds Genteel and Gwanhoya and Genteel is pulled from beneath the witch by Mukura who is spreading out her hand controlling the movement of the darkness.

"Wait. I need to know. Why did, uhm, whatever, carelessly pick me?" "Go back." The woman wasn't paying her any attention. She kept on plucking cowries and attaching them to her head. "What is he? Oh, don't answer that one. He's a ghost. I know that. Why is he in that state? No, no, why can I see him? Why can l feel his touch, ghosts can't do that, can they? What does he need me for?" The old woman stopped her scaly hands from further movements and stared directly at Geneva through her foggy eyes that obviously saw clearly.

Jason sat alone by his deck drawing what he thinks he had seen yesterday, a man and several dogs by the moon howling. As he did this a girl in a orange sweater with a heart embellished on it came to his seat. She saw the drawing and said, "you just moved here didn't you, careful of the woods, we have a wolf problem" she said. "Thanks, I'll keep that in mind" Jason said and looked at her, she had short black hair and cute glasses on, her expression was a serious one though. "My name's May zing, Claas president, I've been observing you Jason, you're quite capable... How about becoming my vice?" She asked.

“Who we are does not matter, what matters is that the Wolves will die tonight!” Zephyr huffed, produced out his sword, and quickly sprinted towards him. “Ha! Do you not know where you are? I am Ghost! You will not be spared tonight!” he replied. Seeing Zephyr rush over, Ghost steadied himself. “Wolf’s Howl!” Ghost howled, with that the attack started. Even though he looked barbaric and unruly, he was very careful. Seeing how many of his men had been slaughtered, even if he did not know who Zephyr was, he knew he was formidable.

A white mist manifested not far from my feet and slowly took shape into a colorless, transparent woman. “That’s better,” Lily said. “Now, can you please tell us who you are and how you know that my niece has been poisoned?” “I thought that all of the ghosts were cast out of this house, except for me,” the ghost said. “Not now!” Lily scolded. “Can’t you see that she’d dying? Tell us what you know.” “She put small amounts of mandrake in the chamomile tea,” the ghost said. “Mandrake?” Megan gasped.

Zira listened attentively with her lips pursed together. “So that means that I can see ghosts now?” It was hard not to laugh at how worried she looked. If it was anyone else that discovered that their wolf had abilities, they would probably be too elated to sit down. But my little Queen was worried about seeing ghosts. Adorable. “I don’t believe that ghost exists, neither do I think that what you saw is a ghost. When Martha comes, she can explain things to us.” She relaxed some more after I told her, and as I ran my hands through her curls, she finally calmed down completely.

With a click, the clasp came undone, and the pendant fell to the floor. In a flash, Zoe’s eyes widened. She grabbed my collar like a madwoman. “Y-You… You didn’t switch fates? You lied to me?!” I looked at her in surprise. “What are you talking about?” Miles suddenly exclaimed, “Ow, Maisie. My neck feels itchy.” He pulled down his collar, exposing his collarbone, and clearly revealed who was actually wearing the demonic fate-swapping lock.
