I learned to hide my scent, rolling in river mud, masking it with crushed herbs and wild mint. I learned the ways of rogues: how to move without leaving prints, how to listen for danger in the spaces between silence.

ARIES POV The journey to Great Falls was almost unbearable. I had to fight my way through bushes and thorns, parts of the forest so wild, no one has ever hiked them. My legs burned with every step. Finally, I burst out onto the highway and dashed across before a moving vehicle could repeat history. I jogged through a sparse patch of woods. Through the bare winter trees, rooftops appeared in the distance and relief washed over me. Civilization. I hated stealing clothes from the civilians, but what choice did I have? I couldn't wander into a city naked. And walking around as a wolf was out of the question.
