My wolf growled softly, protective, impatient, and I could feel William’s own wolf responding in kind, circling, testing, claiming, a predator and a protector intertwined with mine in ways I didn’t yet understand.
At one point, I dared to meet his gaze directly, and the intensity of it made my breath catch. The bond flared, insistent, demanding, and I felt a jolt run through me, leaving my fingers trembling over the papers. “Do you… feel it?” I whispered, voice barely audible.
