Eli said dejectedly while looking out over the crowd of tear-stain-faced wolves. People cried over there lost ones, making my heart sink. The nine bodies laid in there caskets as their ds and family morn over them. I bite my lip while I realize they all died because of me, all these people cried, because of me.

Cathal declared and held his sword in front of him ready to fight anybody who wished to attack him. Following his words, the four knights behind him too held their swords, their eyes sharp and on high alert. They gazed around the hall, counting the number of people who seemed to be ready to attack them.

~Hunter’s Point of View~ I was enjoying my nice, quiet day off soaking in my huge tub. It had been a long week and my brothers and I rotated being on active duty and on call. I was aching for my week off. They were few and far between anymore since it seemed like everyday someone else was being a menace, being difficult. I also prayed for the pup’s safety through all of this, and I just hoped that Willow’s so-called father doesn’t hurt her any more than he already has. On my way into the packhouse from the morning run that I took, trying to clear my head from the horrible nightmares that I had last night, Alpha Chance stops me and asks, “Will you be joining us today?” “I have to train the warriors in an hour.” I told him, hoping that he would drop it. All of them were the broken pieces of a cruel society. I welcomed them all. But a pack of survivors wasn't an army. On the fourth morning, a rhythmic thumping of heavy paws signaled a new arrival. Twenty warriors stepped out from the trees. They wore dark tactical gear, and their scents were thick with ozone and dark earth. These weren't refugees. These were predators. "Kaelen sent us," the leader said, a massive man with a scar across his throat. "He said you’re building an army. He thought you might need some instructors who know how to kill more than just deer."

I see thousands of them–wolves, warriors, horses, and chariots. The slope of the eastern hill is covered, the line stretching out so far that it blurs at the edge of the world. Armor catches the rising sun and gleams like fire in shades of silver, gold, black, and red. I see Moon River’s colors and Golden Elm’s banners. The warriors move in unison, a tide of power cresting the valley rim. They’re here. They all came. The first golden chariots wheel into view, sleek and curved, drawn by massive white stallions, their riders armed with long spears and painted shields. Horseback riders flank them, some wielding bows, others swords, their horses’ manes streaming in the morning breeze.
