I look behind me and see that the ropes on her tail have been partially burned away, and as I get to my feet and run up her back, I begin wrapping her tail with ropes again. This time, rather than blowing her fire on me, she begins heating her body, making the temperature of her back much too hot. I feel blisters forming on the bottom of my feet, but I refuse to give up. When I get to where her wings insert into her back, she uses them to knock me around, trying to get me off of her. I pull one of the ropes off my chest and swing it around her wing as she sends me flying again. I use my element to wrap the rope around her wing, then I use that leverage to yank myself onto her back.

she murmured, tilting her head. Drawn by fascination, she found the rolling ladder attached to the bookshelf and climbed carefully. Her fingers trailed over several thick volumes—Blood Oaths and Moonlight, Fangs of Fire, The Treaty of Shadows. The illustrations on the covers were beautiful yet chilling, with fanged creatures, glowing eyes, and moons stained crimson. With great care, she pulled down four books and descended, arms full. She found the oversized reading chair near the window and curled into it, flipping open the first book.

I was bonded to one of the most ruthless and deadly Lycan of the territory and it had come with some power boosts. I turned back to the books I was reading and read closely on creatures of fire. The first book that I came across was called Beings of The Flame and it only showed and revealed information about dragons. It showed over four hundred types of species of fire breathing dragon from Wyrm dragons, to Arctic dragons, to Basilisk Dragons. I stopped reading because I felt the answers I was looking for had nothing to do with me being a dragon. I was a werewolf, through and through. I came across another extensive book called Creatures of Light and Night but it only spoke about winged crea

I can see the faint outline of what looks like wings spread behind her. Wings of fire that seem to take the shape of a heart… A piercing scream rips through the air as her power increases tenfold and surges into the sky, emanating in waves around her. I see the swirls of the flames behind her move before I see a tiny part of her left wing snap and shrivel into embers of ash. It’s too blinding to look at, and I’m forced to avert my gaze.

Then—an explosion. The fire surged, twisting unnaturally, moving with purpose, as though it were alive. A wave of heat slammed into me. I turned my body, shielding the child as I rolled out of the way, the flames licking at my back. Pain flared, sharp and searing. My wolf howled in agony, but I clenched my teeth. I could heal. The child couldn’t. The fire withdrew as quickly as it had come. I forced myself to my feet, gripping the girl tightly in my arms.

In a split second, my knuckles connected with a bony jaw. The collision was followed with a loud shriek and then a body being hauled some meters away. I closed the distance between us almost at the same instant and rained down punches on the guy's face. All I saw in my eyes was a red haze and nothing else. Another kind of rage and anger had filled me so much that I angrily enjoyed punching the guy's face. It was like the person had snapped some kind of a trip wire in me that could never be reconnected. I couldn't control what I was feeling at the moment, I just wanted to beat this person endlessly for pissing me off. Blood spurt out of his nose under the constant punches I rained on him maki

Next, the wings of the book were burning, but it didn't stop as it tried to still get away. “If only I hadn't given up my fire powers—it’s going to get away; she will get away!” Ruby yelled, and it was true as the book kept trying, then Blake and Dante finally got to her, and holding their hands, they opened their mouths, and fire came out of them, shooting straight to the book. I could hear the screams of my mother and other creatures; my head was spinning, and I couldn't take it anymore. I was about to fall to the ground, but someone held me back. I looked up and was shocked to see my wife smiling at me.

It took less than a minute for the Alpha couple to take the hint, and with laughter and a lot of love, they phased into their wolves, and the race was on to see who could make it home first.
