Its blood-red eyes were full of hostility as it opened its mouth and spat out a raging fire, which rushed toward the phoenix. Chirp! The phoenix let out a light cry and flapped its wings with incomparably dazzling purple flames soaring around its body. At the same time, a purple flame shot out. The raging flames from the black dragon collided with the purple flames from the phoenix in midair. In an instant, huge flames swept across the sky, looking as if the sky was on fire. Swoosh! The phoenix spread its wings, went through the fire waves that were all over the sky, and crushed against the black dragon.

The thing kept up until it was easy to tell that it was a person. Wings spread from its back stretching out wide. With one movement it used them to blow the flames towards the warriors that were standing too close. Flames engulfed them in minutes and then they were gone. With another great batting the wings stopped the flames altogether and the thing was all that remained. Elaina watched in horror as it began to move forward taking in the scene around it. A laugh rumbled from it making the hairs on the back of Elaina’s neck stand up.

She’d learned to read the frequencies underneath it, the quality that meant he was certain versus the quality that meant he was working through something. This was certain. “Igniting,” she said. The fire moved exactly as the model predicted. She tracked it across the corridor, calling positions to the crew, watching the spread rate, the wind direction, the fuel consumption pattern. Everything was where it was supposed to be. At the midpoint she called: “Fifty percent. Spread rate nominal. Wind steady.” Bram: “Point two clear. Ready to advance.” She watched the fire. “Advance to point three,” she said. “Thirty meters.”

A large pair of wings made from fire had sprouted from his back sometime in the clutter and he was flapping them wildly. With every flap he spread air to the already raging fire below him. The ice shards melted instantly under the extreme heat. “His wings, go for the wings!” Raphael shouted, and he was right. I instantly forged a staff from ice and sent it hurtling through the air towards his wings. I thought because it was made of more ice than the shards it would withstand, but It melted before it even reached his wings.

I was floating in the air with golden angelic wings made of fire spread out and protruding from my back. What the actual fuck?!

Eliza relaxes her control a little and Callie grins, “Thank you, Darlin’. I got some frustrations to work through, and it’ll help you understand what’s possible.” Eliza hums, ‘Have at it, Girl. I got your back.’ Callie laughs and half-shifts her wings out, then lets the flames out along them, flying at the next target, flapping her wings at the metal target, melting it as she passes, then sweeps around to the next one. Merlin is replacing the targets as they disappear, and Callie’s really letting loose. Twisting as she flies, clawing at one target, then breathing fire at another before sending two more fireballs at the last remaining targets, headshots.

I summoned my wings, and red wings flapped on my back as my body rose in the air and out of the hell of fire. Lucien’s eyes widened at the sight of me as he staggered backward and sat up. He built a barrier between him and me, but I watched as he inched backward on his ass as I slowly walked toward him. My hands were raised with my palms up, and fire emitted from them, but in between them, shards of big thorn-like spikes were dancing around.

I use all the strength I have to push is harder, hotter and faster. The creatures as the back try and head to the vines to try get through to avoid the flames. The air witches use air to push them back and into the flames. Oh crap the fire witches are starting to weaken and can't keep this pace much longer. We would not make it. SHIT "Air witches lend your powers to the fire." Annabelle shouts

Mane had just employed one of those many moves: Exploding Wings. Mane’s mumble was the trigger for the huge fiery wings that grew on his back. The wings were several dozens of meters long and several meters wide. When they appeared on Mane’s back they rose high into the sky, and flapped rapidly. Yet their beating didn’t lift Mane up or take him into the sky. With the beating of those wings, the cry of a Phoenix filled the ears of all who were here, and several large flames descended upon the retreating goblins, burning them all to a crisp. The fire was stronger, completely eliminating the goblins in less than a second.

My words did nothing but enrage him further, and he started to run towards me, hands outstretched ready to place them around my neck. But, before he could reach me, the familiar sounds of large wings flapping in the air met my ears. Fallon and I both looked up, Thale’s red dragon suspended above us. He exhaled flames in Fallon’s direction, although missing him so as to make sure I was not caught in the cross-fire. I needed to get further away.
