Wings Of Fire Snowfall Novels & Stories

FALINE sat next to the window while idly petting Astora with her free hand. Fall turned into winter. Large snowflakes were drifting in the wind and sticking to the garden grounds, covering the barren plants and walls in a thin layer white. Ever since she was granted the power of the ice, she could see and feel the winter more than her colleagues could. Snowflakes always fascinated her since then with their never ending patterns and glassy gleam. Faline could stare at them all day.

By evening, Loki went out again. The snow was falling even more heavily than the day before. Flakes drifted down like soft goose feathers, like flower petals blown loose by the wind, covering the entire royal capital and burying every golden rooftop. The snowflakes landed on the windowsill, gradually melting into the layer of flame magic Loki had cast.

No sooner had he spoken than the quiet sky erupted in a cascade of dazzling fireworks. One after another, they painted the night with a tapestry of light, each burst more breathtaking than the last. I was so captivated by the display that I could not even blink, afraid to miss a single moment. What girl could resist the charm of fireworks? Certainly not me. Overwhelmed with joy, I bounced off Luis's lap. "Wow... It's so gorgeous, so stunning!" Luis, with his arms still around me, agreed. "It really is beautiful..."

That will never happen… I will never let that happen! Heat lit up the night as I breathed fire for the first time in over two years. The length of my flame would swallow anything within two and a half miles of me. My wings carried me higher and higher. I dove and flipped as my serpent like body carved a way through the clouds. I chased the sun while it rose above the mountain tops which will never be too high for me to reach ever again.

Willow says softly. I look up just in time to see the planes flying low overhead. What in the ever-loving blue hell? I don’t have time to worry about it. Fire rain down on us from above. The air crackles and fills with the anguished howls of melting wolves. The stink of sizzling flesh and smoke from the burning forest threaten to overwhelm me. Fearless, as always, Willow walks out of the trees, and along with her witches, they manage to douse most of the flames, but even from here, I can feel how tired she’s getting. They can’t keep going like this

Chuckling, I moved my wings harder, faster, to get back in record time. “A dragon’s nest is its home and we have not been home in many moons. I wish to take you all over again and get any unfamiliar smell off your body.” “Oh,” she trailed a finger from my shoulder up to my neck, causing my scales to ripple. “And how do you plan to get your smell on me?” Odessa snickered. I did not bother with a response. I continued to fly higher and higher until we reached our cave. Winter had returned to the mountains. At least a foot of iridescent snow had fallen. The snow cleaning the air of smoke and ash made the air crisp and light.

I braced myself, but no amount of preparation could stop the flood of images that hit me. Flames. The forest, once green and alive, was engulfed in a violent blaze. The sky above was black with smoke, the heat of the fire suffocating. I watched as the trees that had stood for centuries collapsed into ash, their mighty forms reduced to nothing. And amidst the destruction, there were wolves—wolves from both packs, Silverclaw and Draven’s, locked in a battle of pure chaos. Their howls pierced through the roar of the flames, cries of pain and anger that chilled me to my core.

" Songbird didn't say anything. She just shifted her head, and an obscure look arose in her eyes. Out of nowhere, she felt something cold on her neck, and she was unable to help herself from contracting endlessly. She gazed upward just to find that unbeknownst to her, the snow had started to fall on the walls. Under the dim sky, there appeared to be an uncountable number of snowflakes. They moved in the breeze, flying out of control, joined by the yells of the local army. …The Months of the Devils had started.

Flowers decorated the passageway, each pot with a considerable amount of space between. The building's interior was chic and exotic just the way she liked it. She loved the soft colors that blended to give it a cool feel. She shivered. The word ‘cool' reminded her of the weather forecast that morning. Snow. It was going to snow very soon and her stomach rolled at the thought. Scarlett didn’t hate the snow. In fact, she loved it. She'd loved playing in the snow as a child or just watching it fall, but that was before she started getting the visions.

And a blazing fire. Winter's serene silence enveloped our mountain sanctuary as snowflakes gently fell. I settled into our favorite spot, cradling a wine glass beside the crackling fire, in the arms of Ryker, his warm kisses soothing my needs for now. The warm glow of the fire danced across the faces of Blaze, Storm, Rain, Ryker, and Phoenix as they all joined me. Our sons were back home still abuzz with excitement, eager to learn more strategies from their dads.
