“This is gorgeous.” “Please tell me you’ve seen snow before.” That rumble is so sexy, even when he’s insulting me. “Yes, I’ve seen snow, Ryker.” “I think I understand my wolf’s fascination with the way you say his name. I like the sound of your voice saying my name. We could listen to you talk about anything. Are you a fan of winter, mate?” “I like all the seasons. It’s just rare to see snow like this. It’s so pretty, clean and untouched like this. Does that last long around here? It never did back home.”

“Your beast forms thrive on your weaknesses, hunger being one of them.” I take a single bite, which is usually enough for him. He flips another page. I hear it all. The way he slides his finger over the yellowed parchment. The crackle and snap of the fire burning in the large, brick hearth across the room. The howling wind carrying termination dust off the tallest mountain peak, the first snow of the season. Winter is not far off. Here, in the high mountains, it has already arrived. It’s too much. The silence is just… too fucking much.

He smiled at me. His eyes are pure and sparkling, like the image of a river that flows continuously after the hard ice is melted during spring. The leaves start to regrow themselves after the cold winter, the green lush is back, and animals are coming out of their hibernating period to play and roam the forest. Staring at this guy makes me want to wonder; is having winter season helpful? Winter freezes everyone and anyone cold. If you don’t have warm packets and thick clothing, you will die.

Satisfied enough with that, I let it slide. It meant I was left with a permanent ache in my chest, but I could deal with that. What I couldn’t deal with was how close we’d come to ending the Eternal Winter, only for it to slap us in our faces and laugh like the howling of the wind. ‘Very poetic for a young whippersnapper,’ said Brian approvingly. ‘Very poetic indeed. I must insist that you continue reading at once, though. You keep daydreaming about your women, you dirty dog, and shutting the book! If you want an end to this nasty business with the ice and snow, you had better put your best foot forward and get tapping to the beat of more research.’

Soon, old scandals resurfaced, banks withdrew loans, partners abandoned ship, and reporters besieged the mansion. Kirk updated me. "Richard blames it all on Olive, saying she colluded with outsiders to drain the company. Liam and Neal have cut ties with the Winters and are being hunted by Richard's enemies." Cindy’s Point of View I looked at the dancing snowflakes from the winter snow. They are creating a beauty despite the coldness they bring during the season. I can’t help but smile and admire its beauty. What I love the most in every season is the winter. I am born in the winter season and winter is my comfort when I felt so alone. My hands trembled as I exited the group. I went straight to Nocturne. When I reached the entrance of the private room, I saw Ronan inside wearing nothing but his underwear. Brynn was dressed just as revealing in nothing but a bra and panties, like a makeshift bikini. She looked annoyed. "My luck sucks tonight. I keep losing. If this keeps up, I’ll be completely naked." She walked over and slapped his backside. "Good thing my obedient son is here to keep me company. Daddy doesn’t have to humiliate herself alone."

The two women who bathed and dressed me whispered warnings about the man who bought me. As they bathed me, I couldn't help but think about my body. I had always been self-conscious about my curves, but the way the women looked at me made me feel like a goddess. They marveled at my full breasts, my narrow waist, and my rounded hips, my long legs and smooth skin.

I turned my body slightly, putting one of my legs up on the bench, so that I could look at him better without having to break my neck. “No,” he answered, looking down at the book in his hands. “I’m from the Kingdom of Vinter.” “What’s it like there?” A smile bloomed on his lips as he dreamed himself back to his place of origin. “It’s incredibly beautiful,” he started, while his gaze was locked on the leatherbound book in his hands. “It’s cold, but not freezing,” he explained. “There’s snow all year long, but everything just looks so beautiful like that, frozen in time.” Everything about him screamed love and longing. “The King of Winter is old,” he raised his eyebrows slightly. “He’s the kin
