Moonlit Pages

Moonlit Pages

The moonlight shining down on the pages illuminated the words in a way that made them seem to come alive. Without thinking, Verena sat down in the nook by the window and used the full moon as her light. She began to read from the book. "Seriona," she read the name written as the title of the first chapter. The story was captivating, and she was drawn in by the tale of werewolves. It was about a pack, led by their king, Lucas, who were cursed by a powerful witch named Seriona to only be alive inside the book. They were inside their own world where they could no longer harm humans, and the world was called Lunaria. The tale sent shivers down her spine; it was so wonderfully written, and the em

The Cast-out Half-werewolf Princess

The men nodded and got to work while the others shifted into wolves and darted back into the woods to find their comrades who had been wounded by the beast. Moon's call approached his cottage which was close to a hill at the other side of a narrow stream flowing down into the river at one part of the forest. He walked across the board bridge he had made over the stream to get to his own side. Although he would have easily sprinted through the stream if he was in his wolf form but he didn't really fancy getting wet when he was in his human form.

Running Away With The Alpha’s Triplets

Running Away With The Alpha’s Triplets

Alora slowly relaxed her nerves and let Snow out. Snow laid there for hours, without saying a word, her eyes wide staring at the moon with passion as though it spoke to her. As the day became darker her eyes grew wider as the moon became brighter, the hours fell so fast that she didn’t know when the clock strikes twelve. Yennefer, Aiden, Marshal, Liam and Alora’s parents walked out to catch Alora gawking at the moon. “Is she okay??.” Alora’s mother asked. “That’s Snow!, her wolf side!.The full moon is like a spell to her!.If I am right this is her first Moon shower since she became a Lycan .” Yennefer explained to Winfred, Alora’s mother.

I am so glad we get for of Kas and Bronx and all their friends. The storytelling is exciting and the characters are complex and evolving. There is quite a cast of characters but the author does an amazing job of introducing them and only including necessary information so that you are not confused.

What a cliffhanger. You are an amazing writer. The series would make a highly rated movie. I would love it, only if they would let Neener Beener write the script. Others commented on the research and it's amazing. Does anyone know if this series is available in paperback? I need to buy 6 books.......

Clouded By The Stars: New Moon

Clouded By The Stars: New Moon

She could feel the fire within her roaring as she flew closer and closer to the moon, and once she stood before it, she could feel herself being flooded with the chaotic power that she sought. “It is you. You are my Boon Season. The full moon.” Kylie mumbled, her words causing a massive reaction within the vast expanse. Under her astonished gaze a strong howl resounded from the depths of her heart, and she felt herself giving in to the chaos within. The image of a wolf appeared behind her, and it howled towards the moon with as much courage and dignity as a king would. A strange symbol marked its forehead, and its eyes shared the same silver sheen that the moon possessed. With a loud growl t

Gift of the Moon Goddess

Gift of the Moon Goddess

Her eyes were silver and she wore a silver dress that shimmered in the blue light. Azura was mesmerized by the woman’s beauty. “Come my child,” the woman spoke, her voice so serene. Azura stepped closer. “I’ve been waiting for you,” the woman said softly. “Why? Who are you?” Azura asked curiously. “I am your mother and mother of all wolves. I am the goddess of the moon. I am Selene,” she replied with an earnest smile. Azura was taken aback at her response. “But what can I do for you?” Azura said confusedly. “My child, you are special. You are my gift to my children. You are the key to end Leus’s evil,” she said smiling again. Azura was still confused. “But..how am I suppose

Wolf Moon - Queen of the Hidden Claw

Wolf Moon - Queen of the Hidden Claw

The smile fades. The scene dissolves. Water closes over her head. It is cold and vast and endless, but she does not panic. Her lungs burn, yet do not fail. Light filters down from above in fractured ribbons, and something passes through them—graceful, silver, otherworldly. A tail flicks. A hand reaches. Webbed fingers brush her wrist, leaving a chill that feels almost like reassurance. She turns, trying to follow, but the water folds in on itself and the shape is gone. She surfaces without breaking.

Ashbound Moon

Ashbound Moon

CHAPTER 3 Smoke hit my lungs before fear did—wildfire heat without flame. The snow was gone, replaced by warm soil and ash, as if winter had been scraped off the world. Above the treeline, the moon hung wrong: eclipsed, bruised, ringed with copper. My wolf stirred, alert. The pendant my mother gave me pulsed in my fist, warm as skin. A key, she’d said. To survive. A low growl rolled out of the trees.

Monster Luna Writes Her Own Destiny

Monster Luna Writes Her Own Destiny

“Not because of the werewolf clan.” She tore open one scroll, staring at the writings detailing dark rituals, Malvior’s signature, sketches of the raid on Briarhowl. “You,” she murmured. “You burned our home. You sewed hatred into my tongue.” “General Coren Moonveil… Luna Lyara… are they my family?” Her scream shattered the already cracked sky. She ran—not toward safety, but toward the enemy. The black wizards in the distance were startled, then laughed. Almost simultaneously, they stopped laughing.

Frequently Asked Questions

I'm a bit fuzzy on the exact specifics since it's been years, but 'Winter Moon' is this strange blend of supernatural horror and kind of a family drama? It follows a couple, Jack and Heather, who move from LA to a remote ranch in Montana after a tragedy. The isolation is palpable, but the real creep factor comes from this otherworldly, parasitic force that's been hibernating in the woods. It's not a monster in the traditional sense; it's more of an intelligent, consuming darkness that manipulates the environment and local wildlife. Koontz builds a dual narrative, cutting between the family's struggle and the perspective of the entity itself, which is an unusual choice. The plot really hinges on the clash between this utterly alien evil and the very human desperation to protect a child. I always felt the 'main plot' was less about defeating the thing and more about the lengths of parental love when faced with an incomprehensible threat. The Montana winter setting isn't just a backdrop; the cold and silence become characters, amplifying the dread. It's not his most famous work, but it has a bleak, relentless atmosphere that sticks with you.

Some people criticize the ending for being a bit too neat or reliant on a deus ex machina, and honestly, I see their point. The final confrontation relies on a vulnerability that feels somewhat hastily explained. Still, the journey there, with the mounting paranoia and the eerie sequences involving the changed animals, is classic Koontz tension. It's a slow-burn where the horror seeps in through the cracks of a new life, making you question whether the real monster is outside or if the isolation itself is driving them mad. Worth a read for fans of his earlier, darker stuff, but maybe not the first Koontz I'd recommend to someone new.
