The chill of the northern winds no longer bothered Alexandro. He had grown used to the bite of ice in the air, but the hollow ache in his chest had become unbearable. Listen up.” Brandon said as he moved behind the counter and grabbed another wine bottle from the back bar. Chad grabbed a stool and sat beside Felix. “So, next week is the opening ceremony of my dad’s new company in Australia. He looked between me and Jane and a slow smile spread across his face. "Well." His voice was warm and carried something amused underneath it. "I did not expect to find Alexander Hagreeves' number one supporter in a police precinct." His dark eyes settled on mine and the smile deepened at the corners. While his position had been secured through connections, he had proven capable and had delivered results over the years. After a moment of thought, Brandon called Damon. "Uncle Damon, do you have time? I need to discuss something with you," Brandon said. Damon had been in his study with Nyla, helping Mason with homework. He stepped out to take the call. "What is it?"

He took a jibe at him. Xander immediately shot him a stink eye but then something clicked inside his mind. Brandon frowned watching the calmness on his face. “How come you know so much about him?” he shot him a question. Brandon broke into cold sweats but quickly schooled his expression to hide his fear. “Just like you, I did my research.” He said and shrugged his shoulders. Xander huffed, “And yet you didn’t do anything about it.” He spoke sternly. Brandon looked him dead in the eyes, “Well, that’s the catch, Xander. I can’t help you even if I want to.”
