The Wife Swap
"I can’t wait."
"That’s my girl," Liv said with a grin I could hear through the phone. "Now go pack. I’ll see you bright and early."
We ended the call, and I sat there for a moment, phone still in hand, feeling a strange mix of nerves and anticipation. The idea of going back to Vermont stirred up a lot of memories—some good, some painful especially because it was in Vermont that I’d accepted this wife swap deal, not knowing that it would be one of the last times I’d see my sister again. But with Liv by my side, it felt a little less daunting. It felt like, maybe, I wasn’t facing all of this completely alone.
