When Nathaniel saw that my mind was set, he climbed up the windowsill. "If you're going through with the divorce, I'm jumping off this building! Life is pointless without you anyway!" That made me relent. I couldn't possibly watch him take his own life if I could stop it, so I yanked him off the windowsill. "Fine, divorce is off the table, but there will be no second time."

She looked at Chief with a shocked face. “Uh…Okay. So you have like a secret island under you?” Amelthia shook her head to absorb all the information. Chief nodded his head in agreement. “Oh…ok then.” Amelthia agreed still in shock. “Kris take her to the room and change her look while I have a talk with Felix.” Chief pointed at Kris to the room. As soon as Kris takes Amelthia with her to the room chief turns his attention to Felix. “So… Felix… You have to be really careful with everything. Make sure nothing goes wrong this time. You both will be sent by the private jet. By 7 your passports and other things will be done. And your name will be Chris there and Niamh for Amelthia.”

Elyra looked down at the glowing mark on her wrist. The silver star at the center of the thirteen-branched tree pulsed gently. Beside her, Zevarion's crescent mark shone with the same rhythm. For the first time, their marks beat as one. Like two halves of the same heart. Astera watched them quietly. "The bridge only appears when the two Guardians are united." Victor glanced at the bridge and sighed. "So... another ancient test." Damien folded his arms. "When have we ever had an easy path?"

Grace had always loved seeing him in white, so he threw aside the black suit I had sewn for him with my own hands and changed into white. A year later, Vincent returned. The Veil represent that fact that they don’t want disturbance. “Good.” I replied as I marched right to the veil and removed it, a choked cry arose from Faye but my attention was soley on the angry faces that were in front of me.

“Observe.” When they came to the edge of a clearing, the group froze. There was a huge stone archway in the middle of it, half hidden by moss and ivy. It was surrounded by a faint, mirage-like shimmer of air. With amazement in her voice, Ericka said, “The Veil.” Winter gazed at the archway, her heart racing. She was drawn to it since it had a strong, mysterious quality. “Remain near,” Hadzen said, his eyes piercing. “This is not at all finished.”

Finding a new resolve, she walked closer to the circle. She walked forward and stood in front of the bloody circle. The moment she did, a blood-colored veil shot up from the circle, preventing her from taking another step. “Do not expect the entrapment to save you, demon. For today, nothing will save you from me.” She took her sword and drove it into the bloody veil in front of her. Like hot knife through butter, the knife went in without resistance. She cut downwards, creating a hole in the veil before quickly stepping through. The moment she did, the veil closed itself up again and disappeared like it never came.

“It’s where it all began.” The flame nodded, her light flaring, illuminating the Cradle’s heart—a massive crystal, not like the tower’s core but rougher, primal, embedded in the stone, its glow shifting—red, violet, gold—pulsing with the runes, the mark, the dagger, the shard. “The Veil was forged here,” she said, her voice—my voice—resonant, echoing off the cliffs. “Your blood, our blood, sealed it. Now it’s breaking, and only the trinity can choose its fate.”

The crowd went completely silent. The massive double gates at the end of the aisle swung open. Alpha Vance stepped out first, his chest puffed out with pride. Next to him, clinging to his arm, was Ravena. She wore an incredibly extravagant, pure white gown that trailed for yards behind her, her face completely obscured by a thick, shimmering lace veil.
