Raven pulled out his phone and placed it on the table. I glimpsed the time. 3:33 AM. 7 November. Wednesday. Roughly one month had passed in the Infernal Realm since I met the triplets. And because of the time distortion, more than three months had passed in the Earthly Realm. Time seemed to move more slowly in Hell than in the mortal realm. And during realm jumps, the flow of time became even more complicated. Yet, even with all those irregularities, it shouldn’t have felt as though I had lived a lifetime with them.

Could this day get any worse? The King’s eyes darkened. “We are fated.” His words stilled me. He knew we were second-chance mates. I wasn’t the only one feeling the undeniable pull of the bond. Fighting the whirlwind of emotions, I forced myself to speak. “Excuse me, I need to rest.” Without waiting for a response, I turned to leave — only to freeze as the sound of ceremonial drums echoed through the hall. A chilling voice announced solemnly, “Sorrow… sorrow… to the lost soul.”

I'll break and right now that utterly can not happen. He shrugs and tries to recall the first time. It takes him a moment but eventually I can see a lightbulb go off in his head. "I remember-" he nearly seems to give out a giggle. "Remember in those dreams of ours? How over and over they wanted us to remember so bad? What do you think would happen if we couldn't? If our brains forced us to forget." He reminisces, I don't have time for this. Well, actually I do have time. We don't have much to do. No- I don't have much to do. Yet, I don't want to be here longer than I have to. Every moment doesn't feel right.

"Shit... I didn't get his number. Fuck! Oh well. Guess that shit wasn't meant to be." The rest of the night continues. We get to Tremors and find the rest of our group. It was just what I needed. Through all of the fun and laughter the memory of his cologne and the look on his face as he looked into my eyes flashes in my head. I was with him for maybe five minutes. Why can't I get him out of my mind? How did he get under my skin so quickly? I wonder when I'll see him again.

It was as though the universe had conspired to grant me this brief respite, a stolen pocket of tranquility amidst the relentless torrent. “What kind of an ass leaves a woman when she literally gave her right arm for him?” I looked up at the TV, the photo of Zach still splashed on the screen. “The kind that doesn’t remember what it was like to love in the first place.” - Somehow, I made it back to my room. I don’t remember making it back, but I woke up with my shoes off, and my arm still on, so I got halfway there. Flipping over, I looked at the digital clock that said 2:30 a.m. and I groaned. I would be so fucked when I got back home.

Maris, ever the curious one, posed a question, "Tempora, is there a way to know? To glimpse into our world and see what awaits us?" Tempora, her expression serene, responded, "While this realm stands apart, it is interconnected. Come with me." Leading us to a reflective pool, Tempora beckoned us to look. The water shimmered, and slowly images began to form. Our world, but not as we remembered it. Changes, subtle yet significant, had taken place. Alec's voice held a hint of concern, "Is that... our realm? It looks different." Tempora nodded, "Your actions here have had repercussions. Time, while mended here, has shifted slightly in your realm."

Its hollow eyes glowed as it spoke in a voice that seemed to echo through time itself. “To return the fourth anchor, you must face the Trials of Time. Each of you will relive a moment you regret the most. Only by confronting it can you move forward.” The group exchanged uneasy glances. “We don’t have time for this,” Ryan muttered. The guardian tilted its head. “Time is not yours to command, mortal. Face your past, or remain trapped in it forever.” Before anyone could respond, the room blurred, and each of them was pulled into a separate vision.

"You have transcended the boundaries of life and death. The Forgotten Realm is this. My spine tingled at the words. What is the Forgotten Realm? I repeated. The guardian's head cocked. "A location where lost souls dwell." a universe unaffected by time. Damon scowled. "What brought us here?" After a moment of hesitation, the figure gently raised a hand and pointed at me. I tensed up. "You have incomplete connections to this world," the guardian remarked. "Someone is waiting for you." My heart was racing. Damon took a step toward me. "Who?" The guardian's tone softened. "A person from your history."

"After the failed ceremony, Karl disappeared for a month. When he returned, he began crafting ceremonial jewelry named for his 'true mate, Isabelle.' The pack council is in turmoil—they say he's been touched by moon madness." I listened quietly, finding no emotional response stirring within me. Fiona eventually departed, and I organized my notes before heading home. It was winter solstice night, and the streets were alive with celebration. Walking slowly back to my apartment, I noticed a small package at my doorstep. As I picked it up in confusion, a trembling voice spoke behind me: "Isabelle, I've finally found you."
