Her arms were crossed, lips curled into a smile that held no warmth.
“So this is where liars still show their faces,” Wendy said loudly.
Laughter erupted. Of course everyone was encouraging Wendy.
Freya tried to walk past them.
“That’s her,” someone said. “The girl who tried to destroy Xander Savage.”
“She thought she had a chance,” another scoffed. “Delusional peanut photographer.”
Freya felt her throat tighten. She focused on the pavement, counting her steps. Then something hit her shoulder. The smell reached her after the hit, it was sour, nauseating. A rotten egg burst against her sweater, yellow slime dripping down her arm.
