The Prophecy's Pawn
The Crescent Moon emblem appeared dimly on the horizon, but it seemed odd.
I whirled in a circle, my breath catching. He needed to be here. He needed to be.
And then I saw it: a silver wolf standing at the edge of the clearing, its eyes flashing ominously. Its fur twinkled like stars, but its very presence sent shivers down my spine.
"Who are you?" I demanded, my voice shaking but forceful.
The wolf remained still, staring at me. Then it gently opened its mouth to speak.
"You've awakened the prophecy," it replied, in a deep, echoing whisper. "But the cost is not yet paid."
