The Alpha commanded everyone. Five minutes later, everyone, including Luna Lisa, had shifted. The Alpha took the lead, with his wife by his side. Off, the entire pack went running into the woods. Barely thirty minutes into their run, a loud howl filled the night. The entire pack stopped running and turned to the wolf who let out an agonized howl. It turned out to be Luna Lisa. Two female wolves went to her and she let them know the baby was coming. They communicated this to the entire pack using mind-link. At once, the Alpha shifted back to his human form.

"I know what you're talking about but it's none of our business." "None of our business?" I fire. Nykon shrugs. "Of course. Onyx gets to do whatever he wants with her. After all, he's the Alpha of the Blue moon pack. And he has warned you to stay out of his business," I shake my head in utter disgust and disappointment. "I can't believe this is coming from you, Nykon. But it's fine. We're all terrible people in one aspect of our life so I'd do my best to ignore you."

Caleb smiles as we continue walking down the cobblestone path, eating, and talking, “So, usually my Beta helps me with this but since it was a special occasion for his family last night, I thought I would give him the day off.” I smile, “That’s nice of you. Can you explain what a beta is and what it’s like being in a pack?” I feel ashamed asking this question- it’s something I should know. The conversation doesn’t awkwardly pause and Caleb smiles, “A Beta is the Alpha’s second in command. My Beta, Lucas helps run things.” I nod and he smiles, “Being in a pack is like having a huge family. We are all connected.” “That sounds nice..” “It is, Maddie. How did you hide your wolf? How long were yo

Hendrick revealed, delving into the history of werewolves. He continued, “This rank is called Delta. They are here to solve the pack business. This one here is Gamma, the leader of the pack’s main fighting force and the protector of the Alpha. And this one is a Beta. Historically speaking, a Beta is always the best companion of an Alpha. They are like the Alpha’s personal assistants. In modern terms, Betas are similar to personal assistants.” He flipped through the pages, describing various ranks in the pack and their responsibilities, all while Jennifer listened intently. When he reached the Alpha rank, he explained its significance.

Amid the chaos, another security crystal activated before the Committee. This recording showed the European Alpha College, filled with wolves of every pack. A group of betas were tormenting an Omega student, mocking her weak healing abilities. The lead beta, a blonde wolf, sneered: "This is how real wolves heal, worthless Omega." Then I appeared, my Alpha power flooding the hall. I slammed him against the wall, fangs bared: "Still laughing? Did you laugh this hard when your pack cast you out?"

A guard had grumbled. I was told that the alphas were the highest-ranking wolves and were known as leaders of the pack. They were followed by Beta and Delta, who were the second and third in command, respectively. Then came the warriors, pack helpers consisting of the healers, trainers, and patrols, and finally the omegas. The omegas were the lowest-ranking members of the pack and the least respected. They were often required to be submissive to higher-ranking wolves and may even be subjected to bullying. According to the gossip that floated above my head, I didn't smell like a human or wolf.

“Not yet. We aren’t done.” My wolf snarled violently. MOVE, Beta. MOVE. But I kept my face still. “What else?” I growled. Ronin’s eyes were grim. “The pack is… divided.” “Explain.” “Some wolves want to kneel when she wakes. Others want to run.” He paused. “And a few want to… remove the threat.” A red haze blurred my vision. “Name them,” I said. “Kael,” Ronin snapped. “Stop thinking like a mate and start thinking like an Alpha. This isn’t about executions.”

During the course of our talk, she had come to sit beside me on the bed to get a better experience of the story. "So, tell me, is he hot? Well, he should be considering all Alpha's are," she mused. That's the thing about werewolf society; only the best for the best, as my mother correctly stated. There are different levels in our society; we have the Alphas, Betas, Gammas, Omegas, and the in-betweens. The alphas are at the top of the food chain and also the pack leaders, while the omegas are at the bottom and the rest follow suit.

“This isn’t my pack, Ariana. It’s ours.” Something about the way he says it strikes a chord, and I look away, studying the faces of the wolves around us. “When are you ‘the’ Alpha,” I wonder aloud. “When the Majority says I am. There’s no Council. Beta, Gamma, Omega are mostly relevant only when hard labor and defense is needed.” “Assignments based on strength and innate abilities.” I state, understanding.
