When we finally had a short reprieve from the howling, she lifted her head from the flagstone and stared at me with the scariest red eyes I’d ever seen. Then, to my horror, she displayed very long, sharp looking fangs. “What are you doing?” I asked as I jumped to my feet and backed away at a quick pace. “Cindy, what are you doing?”

Losing a mate would drive a wolf insane, so if rumor was true he would be going insane without Hylda. Even Sadie wasn't sticking around as much lately. Gerwulf was growing worried about her when the guards started reporting she was sneaking off pack territory frequently during the night. And maybe surviving.” Wolfie, sprawled in front of the wood stove with her head on one paw, gave Christina a low, disapproving grumble, as if even she thought the whole thing sounded fishy. Wolfie’s fur steamed faintly from the snow she’d dragged in, and her one visible eye was half-lidded, unimpressed by their breakthrough.

The effort almost worked… though several of the she-wolves struggled to suppress their giggles. “Well what do you need lipstick for?” the rogue asked suspiciously, his eyes scanning Kade. Then his gaze lingered as lust flashed across his face.

It told me that two werewolves were holding Vampire Cindy prisoner in the second floor laundry room and the boss man dragged Mama Wolf into the attic. Although I found the nick names that the plant gave them adorable, I didn’t say so. There was a time and a place for everything and oohing and ahhing over cutie names would have to wait for a more appropriate moment. I decided to rescue Cindy first. If the boss man was who I thought it was – Michael - I’d want Cindy’s vampire strength for back up.

Stop ruining my brother’s life again! He’s already happy with his mate!” and Shei pulled me towards her while eyeing Cindy, “I don’t want to see your face within our pack’s territory, ever again!”
