"I'm glad. It sounds perfect." The following Tuesday, I walked into the library's community room. Around the table sat a handful of women—Agnes, a retired schoolteacher named Betty, a young mother named Sarah who desperately needed the adult conversation. They were discussing the first three chapters with a passion that was both earnest and endearing. There were no high stakes, no hidden agendas. Just a shared love of a story.

Which only consist of the head of library, two librarians (included himself), and one cleaner whose job also as manual worker. Then when everything has settled, they opened the library for public visiting. As the front door opened, many young women flowed in like water. Most of them were the women Lucas met on his way to the library. They said hey to Lucas with an over sweet tone, which made Mrs. Letty’s brow raised. “First day of work, you already suppressed the highest rate of unwilling women to be educated.” Mrs. Letty joked. “Is this very unusual?” Asked Lucas nonchalantly. He got a look from Mrs. Letty.

I am an Alpha Female but that’s never mattered much outside of my family. The library, nestled in the town square, was a large, worn building, with high shelves packed full of books and a dim, cozy atmosphere. As I entered, I approached the front desk where a clerk, an older woman with keen eyes, was sorting through a stack of papers. “Excuse me,” I began, keeping my tone light. “I’m looking for some resources—books on the Moon Goddess, any histories of the Black Moon pack, and, if you have them, anything on curses.” I tried to sound casual, but her raised eyebrow told me I hadn’t succeeded.

I looked around the large library on the fifteenth floor of the office. Two years I worked here, I never visited the library because of course work is more important. Besides being used as a display, this library is usually used for programmers who want to work in peace. If Big Man's secretary hadn't taken Rhysand and me to the library, I might have been the only employee who had never visited this room. I love reading. Reading novels. The first novel I read was by Louisa May Alcott; Little Woman, and then moved on to other feminist novels such as Handmaid's Tale and Pride and Prejudice—the book I'm holding right now.

She opens the door and leads us in. Her house is decorated with natural elements, arranged in interesting ways and colorful tapestries and crystals line shelves and walls. I take a seat on what she refers to as the couch and we talk for a while. About weather, books, boys and girls. She expresses a fondness for the girl who had made my library card and I grin. Same sex mates are rare among us wolves, and that makes them all the more special. "Have you told her that you like her?" I inquire, and Evers' face turns as pink as her hair.

Inside the library was spacious, judging by the elevated shelves, and the widespread aisles, I could tell this library was historical. “Ahem...young lady, can I be of assistance?” A woman appeared from behind a shelf, she must be the librarian. These couple of days I've been seeing things— supernatural things and how people will look at me like I am crazy if share my experiences, I wanted to tell her what I saw but I think it's best to figure it on my own. “I— no, actually, I am just looking around, I hope that's ok,” “Ok, that's fine dear, just remember— read quietly,” she mumbled, walking towards her desk.

The library was quiet, slightly dim but clean…it was as if there was no window, just the dim light above the ceiling. The library smelled like paper and lavender polish. The shelves stood tall with books stacked neatly in rows. At the entrance, there was a woman with big round glasses and curly hair that was tied in a loose bun. Her eyes were sharp, she didn’t even smile when they stepped in. She glanced up at Kai and he gave her a short nod. “Afternoon, Ms Leta.”

Present day. A beautiful woman stood in the library of an ancient castle that had been preserved to this day. She was accompanied by a middle-aged man and his wife. They were talking in serious tones. The library was like an ocean of books, row after row of shelves packed full and reaching almost to the ceiling. The clean marble floor and dust-free books showed how well the place was maintained. “I love this place. It’s incredible, and so spotless,” said the woman with long, flowing hair, her voice smooth and melodic.

The library was shadowy; like always, and the darkness that clouded the library seemed to hug the rims of the door like water cans with droplets seeping out of the circular edge. “What's that sound?” Wilkes asked when a grunt that was now familiar to Trisha rumbled from within to the other side of the door where they were. Mrs. Perry had turned the library to a sex lodge and Trisha couldn't help but wonder if she had ulterior motives as to why she wanted Trisha to visit the library more often. “It's nothing,” Trisha whispered back, “just that we mustn't make a noise lest we disturb,” she rolled her eyes, “what's going on in there.”

Since it was still day time, I knew I couldn't go to the gardens, I didn't have my usual jobs any longer as I would be serving the queen herself and so I made my way to the one place I knew there wouldn't be anybody, not even Merilyn, the library. This time around, I needed some time alone to collect my thoughts and get myself back together. I wasn't going to be reading any books, or at least that's what I thought. When I got there, as expected, there was only the Librarian. The Lycans never really cared about the books, I wondered why they needed a library in the palace. The Librarian was an old woman, she was a werewolf as well. She was so lucky, at least she didn't have to deal with the L
