She asked, her eyes widening slightly, which made me confused.
Had I said the wrong word?
“I said you could be wearing a sackcloth and you would still look ethereal,” I reiterated, “Should I have not said that? I'm sorry, baby girl.”
“No, after that,” She uttered, “The two words after that sentence.”
It was then it hit me.
I had called her “my love.”
The words had come naturally to me, and I didn't even realize when I said them.
