I can’t stop thinking that the person who sent the gift could have some bad intentions towards me and my baby. There’s always this constant worry and fear in the back of my head wherever I go. After class, I decided to head to the library one afternoon to look for a certain book that was needed for my lesson the following day. I spent almost thirty minutes in there trying to look for the book and doing some research which was going to be submitted in three days. I tried to focus on my studies and ignore the bugging thoughts about Jolene.

"You hurt poor mate feelings." Could I have overreacted? We were both in a situation we clearly weren't happy about. So we were both triggered to say or do things we didn't mean. I shifted my worries to the back of my mind. Worrying won't solve anything, so why worry? As I stood by the window watching the skies, I heard footsteps. Listening more closely, they seemed to be more than one person's footsteps, and they were headed towards my room. I immediately jumped into my chair and table where my assignments were laid open. I turned the pages to a random midsection before my room door swung open and a huge light torched into my room.

The room seemed to close in on her, amplifying her worry and frustration. Tears welled up in Hailee's eyes as she sank to the floor, overwhelmed by a sense of impending doom. She couldn't shake off the feeling that something was terribly wrong, and the missing book only heightened her anxieties. Hailee's worries grew with each passing moment, leaving her with a profound sense of unease that gnawed at her very core.

The only thing that would pop up is worries of her friend, Meagan. Vastria groaned as she closed the book and put it back on the shelf. She cannot take her mind off her worries with these books. She made her way back down leaving the books she forgot to put away on the table hoping no one would touch them since she still wanted to read through them.

“No. But I’m nervous. If this blows up, my scholarship is gone.” We didn’t talk long. The fear kept us careful. Professor Kane still didn’t return for lectures. The substitute teacher was boring and strict. Every day without him made the hole in my chest bigger. I missed his voice. I missed the way he looked at me. Even the danger felt better than this emptiness. On Friday afternoon I went to the library to study. The place was quiet, almost empty. Tall bookshelves created small, private corners. I wandered through the history section, looking for a book on the topic we were supposed to cover. My mind wasn’t really on studying.
