Cycle of Cliches
“Oh my God! What are you writing? It’s been…like fifteen years now?”
“Yeah, it’s been hell with that piece! Every time I write it, I feel it’s not good enough. In the process, I didn’t even realize, it’s been fifteen years now.” Fifteen years since I had seen her last. I didn’t have to garner sympathy for myself, telling her that I had burnt a complete manuscript, when she had left.
“That’s the thing, you see. That’s the thing with all the writers. They keep writing and writing and writing for years and then one fine day, we get something. We call it a masterpiece.”
