Back then my mum omega 2 fought to defend me from Luna's attack. I gave up for the safety of my mum and dad," Sicily explained unprompted. "Hem, then what happened after that?" asked Rebecca.

JENNA’S POV Alex stood before us, his formal ceremonial attire highlighting his powerful frame. The traditional blindfold that usually covered his sightless eyes was absent. His gaze, once empty, now held a startling clarity as he looked directly at me. "Jenna, you are breathtaking today." "You can see me?" I whispered in disbelief. "Release her, Carrick. I jumped away from him, clearly my throat awkwardly as I lied, “I was just testing how blind you are. Apparently, not blind enough.” “Ouch!” He chuckled. “I'm not sure if that is an insult or not. I am blind in the sense that my vision is blurred out sometimes. I can see things to an extent depending on the lighting. I can see movements, colours, just the blurred version. Same with people.”

Finally, I stop, my chest heaving, my arms hanging heavy at my sides. "You are trying to see me," the blind man says. "That is your mistake. Your eyes are lying to you. They show you where I was, not where I am going." He taps his stick against the floor. "Close your eyes." "What?" "Close your eyes. You cannot fight what you cannot see. So stop trying to see." I look at Mark. He nods once. I close my eyes. The darkness is immediate and complete. Without sight, like the world shrinks to the sounds around me. My own breathing, and drip of water somewhere in the distance. The soft tap of the blind man's stick against the stone floor.
